the conference tournament is in Starkville this weekend, and they should host a regional in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if they won both weekends.

Georgia and Kentucky are both really good. Georgia beat us 4-3 and Kentucky beat us 6-1 (although five singles matches went three sets, so it was closer than the score indicated).

We will challenge for a top 8 seed in the NCAAs. We will host a regional regardless, but the regionals work like baseball (16 4-team regionals) and the top eight seeds have significantly easier draws. All 16 regional winners hold seeds and go to Athens for the NCAA Championships. An 8 seed would give us the 9 seed in the Sweet 16, and Southern California in the Elite Eight.

We went 18-5 this regular season, 9-2 in the SEC. Our losses were to #2 Ohio State (6-1), #3 Virginia (4-3), #4 Georgia (4-3), #7 Kentucky (6-1) and #27 Texas A&M (4-3). We should have beaten A&M, Virginia and Georgia. Like I said above, Kentucky was closer than the score indicated, but Ohio State killed us.

We notched wins over #10 Florida, twice over #14 Ole Miss, #15 Tennessee, #16 Auburn, and #21 LSU. Yes, the SEC has eight top 25 teams and will definitely host five regionals, could host 6.

Best guess at regionals - LSU will be the #2 in Oxford (SEC teams can go to SEC hosted regionals). Florida State or Baylor are good candidates for #2 seeds in the Starkville regional. South Alabama will probably end up the 4 (we beat them 4-0 this season). Possible #3 seeds include South Carolina, Vandy and Alabama. Vandy played us tough in Nashville, but we handled USC and Bama easily.
