I had heard a rumor when we did the breast cancer awareness uniforms we might do a full pink jersey, but it obviously never materialized. Looks like it was for real though.

Look, I'm a new uniform guy. But unless this uni is actually a true pink, it's nasty as heck. Put that crap away, Adidas. Think of the children!

I mean... I like the idea of raising awareness for breast cancer, but a full pink jersey is completely overboard. The NFL does the best job... enough pink it's obvious... but not so much it's overdone. This is beyond overdone.

Stricklin just mentioned it on twitter. Basically said, no worries MSU fans, it's just a concept not something we will actually wear.

I like the subtle pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October?) like gloves, shoes, or towels but a whole jersey? That's poster material for every other team for the rest of time. I know that most (if not all) schools have big banners or posters in their facilities of their team versus every school in the SEC or at least their division... our players wearing this jersey would be it.

Keep it simple. Do something that fans would want like the Boston Strong hats and auction/raffle them off with proceeds going to breast cancer research. Jerseys aren't it.

I like how we embraced the cause though. Good stuff. Bad execution.

I know most of us would hate it, but if we wore these, we would be on very talk show and news outlet in the country. For a while atleast.

If MSU is going to be a trend setter lets bring awareness to testicular cancer. I'm thinking a hairy sweater looking jersey with a penis head helmet.

Methinks Stricklin should cease all these "concepts", and go back to the basic maroon and white uniforms that we wore during the Tyler or Sherrill years.

my soapbox moment. Why does breast cancer get all of the attention?

About 200,000-225,000 new cases of breast cancer occur every year in the US. About 600,000 DIE FROM HEART DISEASE every year in the US. Sure, I have family members that have died from cancer, I have family members that have died from heart disease. But, what the hell? I am truly beyond tired of the pink galore. Sorry, soap box over.

It's because many women fail to get screened

and that's why awareness is so important. Heart disease kills more, but everyone knows why you get it, and knows that if you're a fatass, you're at risk.

Like anyone breathing, I am against cancer as well, who isn't? Let's raise awareness, funds, etc. But the pink ribbon Komen(sp?) thing is getting a little ridiculous. In the gas stations they sell pink ribbon Susan Komen 5-hour energy shots! I'd like to know how much actually goes to women stricken, screenings, research and development, etc and how much is pocketed. I know there's a group or barometer for charitable organizations somewhere. I wonder where this one ranks?

My soapbox....

take issue with something other than breast cancer getting "too much" attention. Caught early and survival rate increases like with most cancers but often times breast cancer spreads to the bones and other organs and this is what causes death. Please take issue with trivial matters such as arguing about uniforms etc...not something that can devastate families.

Got news for you... Fat people aren't the only ones dying from heart disease...

and if you think screening isn't AS important with heart disease and stroke as it is with cancer, you are really kidding yourself. More than 50% of the people that are suffering from heart disease have YET to get screened or understand that they have it. Also, there are tons of people that everyone would consider 'fit' that have it. weight has absolutely nothing to do with rotten genes. and that is what the majority of heart disease comes from. I know 5-6 truly obese people that have perfect numbers while I am 6-3, 215 and I take 7 meds and have for the past 10 years. THIS DISCUSSION IS MY ISSUE... HEART DISEASE IS ASSUMED TO BE SOMETHING THAT THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE IT SHOULD KNOW THAT THEY DO!!!!

Good points. Back to uniform discussion, I say ChillBilly only should design our uniforms. That guy gets it.
