I feel like Spaun is going to be absolutely nails in the Ryder Cup.
He does have that Lee Trevino “You don't know what pressure is until you've played for five dollars a hole with only two in your pocket” look about him. That’s important in match play competition.

Do you know what irrationally annoys me about JJ Spaun? His arms are insanely short. He looks like an alligator walking around out there.

Love his grit, though, and agree with you both that he'll be a tough out at Bethpage.

Just turned coverage on the computer while working watching the Scottie/Rory grouping.

Rory's shirt.....ummmm.....he looks like he's been trying to feed a young calf. Paige Spiranac would be proud of the high beams Rory is sporting today

Novak has not used the playoffs to further his Ryder Cup ambitions, however small his chances were. Bummer

Nike’s golf apparel is pretty bad for the top players. Scottie looked like half of him was dunked in the lake after about 7 holes.

For those who didn't see it, Rory got one of the five best breaks I've ever seen a golfer get on 18 yesterday. He caught all ball on a 45-yard bunker shot and the ball would have gone 100 yards past the flag were it not for the grandstand behind the green, which it proceeded to hit and ricocheted back onto the green and came to a stop 15 feet from the hole. He was able to drain the putt and walk away with a birdie.

I saw it. It was a fantastic break. I thought initially that it hit off the second level of the grandstand. lol

I enjoyed watching Scottie and Rory go at it yesterday. On several occasions, one got a great teach off the other when putting.

They were really hamming it up together, and Smylie mentioned at one point how much fun they were having between shots. I don't think I realized they were that close.

Scottie's wry smile as he looks over at Rory was great

The "lefts" off the tee have continued to plague Scottie.

Ripped his opening tee ball OB but rallied by hitting it 3' from 200 yards to salvage bogey.

Then got it back to even by making birdie on the 3rd.

Ryder cup selection time. I don’t think Bradley should pick himself. I won’t mind if he does and won’t judge him either way like all the talking heads would do. I just think it’s less likely to produce a better result than some other folks out there that don’t have the captains burden.
Of course, if he replaces himself with Speith, that would be a mistake.

My wife laughed at me for continually cheering for Cantley to hit the ball in the woods. I counted and that guy waggled his feet twenty times before he swung. The final group had a hole and a half ahead of them at the end.

Tommy has this. Scottie with two shocking shots today. 1 & 15
The water ball at 15 was fall off the couch shocking. Scottie is so good we just expect that coming off the birdie that he would hit something ridiculous there and have an easy birdie and charge through the last few holes

Really really happy for Tommy....seems like such a good guy. He has sooooo much talent.....he's one of those guys that can go out and just drop 5 birdies in a row at seemingly any point. Would not surprise me at all now that this monkey is off his back that he plays exceptional golf at the Ryder Cup and he gets his first major next year.

I thought about making a prediction post after Scottie sent his first tee shot OB (but didn't do it because I didn't want to put any more bad final rounds thoughts on the web for Tommy) that said:

Scottie goes OB on 1st hole, makes bogey and rallies to shoot 62.

Meanwhile, Cantlay and Fleetwood never finish as they are around hole 16 when the last patron and volunteer leave at 1 AM as Tommy has been looking for balls the whole round and Cantlay is just now getting comfortable enough to make his first swing of the day.

I really dislike Cantlay.
