The Last Resort is my favorite Eagles song. Also love Wasted Time from the same album.Tru dat - love the Eagles, but how about "The Last Resort" for once, instead of Hotel California for the 115,000th time?

Victim of Love is a kick-*** song but I seldom hear it on the classic rock playlist rotation. In the City is another example, but does get slightly more airplay.Tru dat - love the Eagles, but how about "The Last Resort" for once, instead of Hotel California for the 115,000th time?
, 4 girls wanted me and my best friend to go with them. .

A fair question for sure... but really, the wrong question.
"Will I enjoy listening to Foreigner's songs?" is the right question.
I saw them few years ago at The Jack Casino in Cincy and they were FANTASTIC (and Mick was still in the casino for the first 3 songs, including an awesome Double Vision opener).
For me, it comes down to "Would I rather spend money on a VERY high quality tribute band playing songs I LOVE (see Skynyrd, Foreigner, Jason Bonham's LZ Experience, Brit Floyd, heck even The Dead, etc) or pay hundreds (or even a grand) to see The Stones, etc from a half mile away... or worse, see a newer act that might have a few decent songs?".
At the end of the day, a great song is a great song... even if its not done by the original artist.
YMMV.
Agreed: Lou Gramm (the only "face" they ever had) hasn't been part of the band for more than 20 years.I understand that viewpoint. I imagine a lot of people go see Foreigner and have no idea that there are all new members. Sort of like how when we were young (70s/80s) there were always groups like The Platters and the Ink Spots, etc. coming to town with no tie to the original acts but someone owned the name. That is where the rock touring business will go eventually - licensing/selling the name in order to put a tribute act out on the road. It would work very well with "faceless" bands like Foreigner.
To be fair, those bands do have some good songs, but compared to some of the great rock-n-roll bands throughout history, they have pretty mediocre catalogs. I realize people tend to like the music they grow up with, which biases all of us. That being said, I think there is some objectivity to music as well. Bands like Kiss, Foreigner. Bad Company, etc., just don't hold up well in comparison to other bands of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.Damn...you hate good music.
Do you realize you'll be seeing what amounts to a tribute band? Assuming no Mick Jones, there will be no original/classic era members in the band at all.

But the name "Foreigner" is on the road, and I guess folks just appreciate the good songs.
