"Former Rutgers coach Greg Schiano is almost certainly NOT taking his old job. "

LOL. Who is Ralph D. Russo and why would he know a single damn thing about our coaching search we don't?

Ralph Russo is the national college football writer for the AP.

He knows his stuff. Though don't know if this is just speculation or if he knows something.

Ralph russo wrote that? He actually i very well plugged in. But he can be wrong. Ps russo was one of the few outside ny that would give rutgers votes in the ap polls

Russo's an area guy and a friend of Rutgers football.

It's sad the state of our program is where it is.

I don't agree with his rankings but I'd think a big college football fan like you would know who the national AP writer is.

Russo also went to the same high school as Kyle.

LOL! There you go. If Russo was so astute about college football he would realize this job doesn't resemble Schiano's old job, except by name of university and location only. Instead of coaching against Syracuse, USF and UConn, this job now coaches against Ohio State, Michigan State and Michigan. It's a different league playing against very different opponents, and it's a different job requiring new ideas.

Comparing Rutgers to UCF
UCF - 4th to 5th most desireable school in FL for recruits behind FSU, Florida, Miamia, and maybe USF
Rutgers - top school in NJ but the top recruts tend to lean towards Michigan, Ohio St, Notre Dame, and Penn St

UCF - biggest school based on undergraduate population in FL
Rutgers - school based on undergraduate population in NJ

UCF - doesn't fool itself and knows it is a stepping stone job
Rutgers - is between a stepping stone and lifelong job. A NJ guy may stick around but a young guy may use it to get to Michigan or a top name.

As opposed to the infallible ScarletNation.com.

Big difference: The so-called predictive information on this site is from POSTERS, not professional journalists.

The "news" and reporting on this site from the professional reporters on the site (S. Brown and B. Deren) generally do not predict or speculate, but rather just report what they KNOW to be true, as it becomes KNOWN, not jumping the gun.

Sorry. Anyone that considers UCF a better coaching opportunity than Rutgers doesn't deserve any respect.
