Awesome, good for him.

Lots of bigger names being tossed around obviously, but there were people saying a month ago that Taggart was Oregon's top choice.

Good for Willie, he should be an interesting hire for that lackluster conference!!!

Kind of shocking, but he's a good coach, just doesn't have the profile I'd have figured Oregon could have grabbed. He should get them back to top 10 soon.

A lot of speculation on Charlie Strong to USF. What assistant coach would want to work for Strong, however?

Well done Willie...very good coach and program builder.

It was only a matter of time before he started to ping on the big radars.

Who do the Bulls go after? Kiffin?

Word is Houston is hesitant because they don't want Lane to bounce in a couple years...

Kind of surprising, but big time for him to get that job. Plenty of money and support at Oregon. Hope he does well.

That's great news for Willie. He is a good job. It's ashame that WKU can't keep a good coach.

Pretty good hire by Oregon. I had a feeling this would be their guy when I looked at the candidates.

Being an Oregon fan, I watched a lot of his press conference today and they have some great pictures of Willie touring the facilities for the first time. I think he is going to do great things there.

Prediction here. Hometown kid Justin Herbert will win the Heisman and help Willie lead the Ducks to the CFP in the next 3 years.

A risky hire imo.

He spent 2 years failing MISERABLY at South Florida because he was too stubborn to realize the Stanford style power offense wasn't going to work with the level of players he had, so he hired a new OC who installed a no huddle spread offense and had an immediate turn around the last 2 years.

Apparently he only made the OC change after being threatened with being fired.

It always makes me question a coach who wasn't smart enough to figure out those issues after being hired.
