In an earlier Scout premium article, http://recruiting.scout.com/2/869015.html, Thompson talks about the schools that have offered him (MSU, Ole Miss, Baylor, Memphis, Auburn, etc.)

However, in this Scout premium article on the Baylor website, http://baylor.scout.com/2/874200.html, this dubmass writer saw "MSU" in the previous article and continues to go on and on about how Thompson likes Michigan State and that he went to Ole Miss and Michigan State's junior days and he plans on camping at Ole Miss and Michigan State.

Seriously man, do your damn homework before writing an article. Michigan State isn't even recruiting this guy. Just had a flashback of when we were playing basketball a few years back and the announcer kept calling us "Michigan State."

that folks like Yancy and Gene are douchebags, but they were ahead of the curve. Maybe they were just lucky. About 90 percent of the tech world in the late 90s (including myself) thought that Web 2.0 technologies (blogs, message boards, social networking, etc.) were not worth the time and effort put into them. The thought was that only geeks would be interested in these "online communities" and that most, "normal" people would prefer real world interaction. I actually found a trade article that I saved from 1998 saying this.

When Gene and Yancy and idiots like this guy at Baylor received the rights to TheInsiders.com (later acquired by Scout), it was pretty much people like them interacting. These people may have been fans but they were and still are dumb as ****.

Its ironic that Web 2.0 is now putting newspapers out of business, and that newspapers rely on the Web 2.0 standards to keep their Web sites semi-popular.

That being said, some of the Web 3.0 technologies that are being tested are amazing.
