But if a MSU fan displays a modicum of optimism, you & dawgstudent are the first ones to run the smart mouth towards the "unrealistic" MSU fan.

Being overly optimistic doesn't make you more of an MSU fan than anyone else here. It just sometimes makes you look like a dumbass when you should have known better. For example, see your post from before baseball season about how you thought the season would play out. Then see your contradictions later in the season after you were grossly mistaken. I have to assume that fans like you somehow think your optimistic predictions will have some type of effect on actual outcomes of games.
It's funny that you are running your trap about "the original mission of this board". If I remember correctly, the original mission was to create a board where all opinions of MSU sports were allowed, as opposed to GP where only positive MSU opinions were allowed. You seem to want the latter.

But Ronny has to amp up and call him a "machine" and, combined with the "golden era" comment -- I thought it just sounded sheepish, since Mullen hasn't coached a game yet. Plus I'm not fond of Ronny, so that probably had something to do with it.

I have to agree with Ronny and his bowl projections for MSU, with MSU's schedule being quite easy, especially in the SEC conference, I certainly can see MSU making a bowl.
