Fox Regional vs. Dish Network

Worst timing ever to have a money fued with a giant like Fox. I like the cost effectiveness of Dish...but this sh#it is ridiculous. No advance warning (that I heard of) that the regional sports channels were going to be blocked from Dish on Oct 1st. This means I will not be able to see any games on SportsSouth or SportsNet until they get this rectified. Already had to make arrangements at the nearest sports bar to watch any CSS games.(also not available on Dish)

just like last year, Directv had a dispute with Vs. for most of the hockey season based on a money dispute. That one lasted a couple of months.

This is definitely not just Dish and the bad guys in this are the Network channels. The problem is, they are bleeding money on the their network channels and want providers to pay a fee to broadcast them (these are the CBS, Fox, NBC, channels). Providers refuse to pay to broadcast these channels since they never had to before so now the channels are jacking the rates up for all their cable channels. basically, "you won't pay us for this, we'll double the price for something else".

I hate that I couldn't watch the game this weekend (I actually watched the replay on espn3) but I am behind Dish on this one. I don't want them having to trim channels or raise my rates to keep some of these channels. I would prefer if they would go to a model where I can pick exactly what channels I want and just pay for those. Hell, my whole family might use 25 channels, there rest are just **** I have to sort through on the guide.

If by suck you mean offers a few less channels for a lot less money then yes they do suck. Directv offers the best channel lineup but they also charge too much, if money's not an object Directv is the solution.

I called and got a quote from DirecTV when I saw something flash across FX Thursday night, if I made the switch I would spend about 25-30 more for the exact thing, maybe a few more channels that I would never watch. Stayed with Dish.

but I called Saturday morning and they are taking another $15 a month off my bill for a year, gave me HBO. I know it's not much, but it's something.

Plus your wife doesn't ***** about the ugly-*** dish in your yard and/or house. Just go into Comcast and they will give you a promo deal for six months, when it runs out go back and threaten to leave and they will hook you up again. Also, there is no need for additional boxes for your non-HD televisions, like in the kitchen, back porch and bathrooms.

had them all, currently Dish at one place and Direct at the other. Direct way overpriced for what you get but good packages.
Dish better service, less lost signal, easy to work with. Comcast has the absolute worst signal out there, even with full digital and HD, nowhere near as good as either Dish or Direct. My next move will likely be to Dishnet at the one now with Direct.
I was hit with the directv/versus fight last year but lucky for me it was cleared up before the Tour de France; cycling is about all I ever watch on versus.

Comcast in Tupelo is going all digital and will require a box for every TV starting in Dec. per the N.Miss Daily Journal
