"I try not to get it in to who has better jobs but in this case, @WVUhoops is (if not a sleeping giant) a better job that @IowaHoops right now in my opinion. The team is the state’s pro basketball team & fan support is awesome. They have great NIL and great facilities. And the governor has your back. The leagues are similar, of course. I’m hoping that the Mountaineers do not need another coach for a while."

While true, I'm not sure the gulf is so large to overcome the pull from your alma mater. If I were in the coaching game, I can see how a blue blood job like UNC or UK would be difficult to leave in favor of WVU. However, I'd easily jump ship from a slightly better program to WVU because I love the Mountaineers.

WVU basketball job is far better than Iowa. If not for it being his hometown he no doubt wouldn't think of Iowa. Devries is not an Alum of Iowa. He went to Northern Iowa.

His brother played for Iowa and is still their all time sack leader. Iowa has been a dream job of Devries as has Indiana.

Don't care about Frischilla's opinion. Argument could be made on both sides successfully in my view. I won't predict what will happen but will have faith WVU will be fine either way with the HC situation as long as it is settled soon.

WVU and Iowa's basketball histories are incredibly similar. WVU is 32-31 in NCAA Tournament games all-time, and Iowa is 31-31. WVU has played in two Final Fours and Iowa has played in three. Neither school has won an NCAA title.

Regardless, if DeVries views Iowa the way we do WVU, then I completely understand if he wants to leave. Even if WVU is a better job, it is not so much better of an opportunity to negate homerism for Iowa.

I’ll concede, they may have a better season next year.

I’ll take our program over Indiana every time.

He will be out of a job in 3 years.
Yes, you're probably right. I was shocked they went for him after just 1 year in P4 team. Devries is stepping into a mess there.
