I suspect many in this forum have interest in the title subject and please share anything you know. Regarding the large Charter Fitness chain, I have received 2 e-mail surveys spaced by a couple of weeks. The first was feeling out members about private or outdoor sessions during this Phase 3, which must have had low interest. Today's survey, concerning Phase 4 when it occurs, focused on only 4 key ranking questions:
  • How important is opening to you?
  • How soon would you return given reasonable safety precautions?
  • Upon return, would you wear a mask at all times except while actually working out?
  • Would you wear a mask at all times in the facility?
Interesting?

My gym the Resolve Fitness Center in Diamond (Coal City) is already reopened. But I have no details about their new rules and limitations.

I am considered a vulnerable person so I have been in no hurry to check it out yet. I've been by there twice and there are several cars there and their electronic sign says "Yes we are reopened".

The gym used to be 24/7 Fitness and is the same outfit that runs the gym in Morris just off Rt 47 by Jewel, so I assume that one's open also.

Myself - I will just continue walking outside for now until it starts getting so hot out that I need to look into going back to the gym. I need the use of some of the weight machines however. For now I'm just making do at home.

EDITED: realized I wrote I was "making due" instead of "making do". I don't want to be rounded up by the Grammar Nazi's. :p

I would be willing to wear a mask walking around but I cannot see myself wearing one while actually working out, at least not with the type of homemade mask I have now.

I don't know the gym's rules yet.

I live in Winfield and belong to Lifetime Fitness in Warrenville. I haven't heard anything yet about that reopening.

I work next to a CrossFit facility and gymnastics facility, both are going full boat from I can tell. The CrossFit facility that my family goes to is also operating. ***disclaimer is they are mostly outdoors or just inside the huge garage doors.

I worked out there for years. Small world. I was the strong one.......lol

in all seriousness how is it now? I just left dynamic. When I left resolve (then get fit 24/7) it was really a dump. Nothing ever got fixed. Always dirty. Loved the 24/7 access though.

I work in the fitness industry in sales for a large vendor.

Illinois will be last to open gyms. Even California is re-opening their gyms June 14th.

Illinois has no leadership pushing gyms to reopen like many other states.

fitness is the best vaccine there is right now. Get people healthy and able to fight the virus.

Donuts have been deemed more essential than fitness in Illinois.

I'm no expert on gyms. I have been a member there since late 2018 and I'm sort of limited on what I use: treadmill & cybex bike regularly (and) maybe 4-5 weight machines fairly regularly. That's about it, no major machines or free weights.

Overall my opinion is that they are halfway decent and clean. I love the hours. There were many times I was the only person there late at night (like 10 -11:30pm) I don't know who uses the gym between 1 - 5am except maybe a few swing shift workers or super hard core exercise guys/gals.

I've always wondered about whether Dynamics is better. I just randomly choose the one closer to my house. But I've heard several people say that they are pretty much the same with similar hours.

As a matter of fact, the young guy who was most often running the front desk at Resolve was a ex-stud football player from Wilmington. I can't remember his name (my daughter told me and I have forgotten) but I think she said he was a star player on Wilmington's State Championship team and maybe said he kicked the winning field goal.

Anyway I've probably given you enough clues that you know who I'm talking about. He was a polite young man with blondish hair and fairly ripped. You could tell he worked out regularly.

Looking at Pritzker, why would it surprise anyone he doesn't see fitness as important?????

My franchise consists of a chin-up bar, a Bullworker bow, and high-intensity cardio. The only thing missing is the girls.

If you listen to Joe Rogan's podcast, he talks a lot about how untrue your statement is. There are people that do iron man races getting the virus. However, you work in sales so I understand your move ;)

Anybody remember and/or use the original Exer-Genie home strength training device from the 1960s? If so, you are really old (like me).

Yes.... fit people do get the virus. However being fit increases the likelihood of you fighting it off

That would be jordan sarr. It would make sense that a former football player works out a lot I suppose. I used to go at about 4am. Loved the peace and tranquility.
