Has Jackson visited Duke yet? I thought he was coming in Oct. OFC
I just saw a link from Scout posted in a Duke group I'm a member of on Facebook about him making his decision tomorrow and he visited Duke this past weekend. We were his last official visit before his decision.

Sounds good to me! Anyone know if he's stated whether he's coming to college right away or going to take his mission before coming to campus?

Maybe he'll explain that tomorrow too?

Pretty positive he isn't doing the mission anymore.

The last info. I saw on his "final" four choices, his interest was supposedly: High - Duke & Stanford; Medium - Utah & BYU. Just because he was at Duke this past weekend does not mean he is picking Duke Tuesday afternoon.
However, my heart tells me that his selection will be Duke!! ;) ;)
Go Duke!!

He was at Duke over the weekend.

Ok. Maybe I was thinking about Giles. I just hope tha as he was leaving the airport that HOF Coach Roy Williams wasn't chasing him through the airport with a bowl of Wanda's " nanner puddin ." That could be trouble if he managed a spoonful or two into Jackson's mouth.:D OFC

Yes Sky it was probably Giles that you were thinking about...his official visit to Duke is scheduled for either October 30th or 31st and he's supposed to make his announcement a few days later in early November either just before or just after the college basketball season starts.

If he commits, I think there's very little chance he plays point guard consistently. He'll play off the ball and have the green light to punish smaller/less athletic defenders, IMO.

I don't celebrate until the kid picks his choice. (Call me cynical from the case of Harry Barnes.)

Obviously the staff has become really impressed with this kid and thus the offer. Hopefully their hard work will pay off by this evening.

If Frank commits, and Giles follows this class could equal 2014 in terms of talent; not saying impact .

Why are we still bringing this up? My gosh people, get over harrison, it was 6 years ago. I'm getting sick of reading it from our fans, big whoop we lost out on one recruit. It wasn't as close as you actually think it was. Yeah we were in it but not nearly as much as the pubic thought.

I agree we need to get over it- it sucked at the time when we were not in a great place and couldnt see the light at the end of the tunnel. However if you really want to twist history to believe that we weren't in it, then all i can tell you is not only are you dead wrong, but if you ever come across anyone that was in the basketball office that day, don't tell them you think they weren't in it.

he played us plain and simple. Funny thing is we didn't need him and in retrospect he didn't matter whatsoever. We already had the team that was going to turn us around and the recruit that made us "cool" again even if he only played 11 games. We had our game changers and it must suck for Harry to realize he didn't matter. As for a run I feel it too we are about to reach what few if any other programs have ever done. K's gunna close this thing out in style

Whether you like it or not the Harry Barnes commitment day (intentionally orchestrated to coincide with Duke's season opener imo) is a day that has been pointed to as a watershed moment for Duke and UNC. On the surface it appeared that the Heels had the keys to the kingdom, coming off an NCAA title, having a pre-season top 10 team (ahead of Duke even in the rankings) and had just taken Duke's top target. It was a rough fall for Duke fans. And then magically five months later UNC ends up in the NIT and Duke not only sweeps them but shares first in the league, wins the ACC Tournament Championship(I was there) and wins the National Championship. Since the Barnes commitment UNC is 3-10 vs Duke and has not been to the Final Four since that 2008-2009 season while Duke has two NCAA Championships in 2010 and 2015.

If you don't like seeing references to Barnes then scroll past it, but don't try to brow beat me or anyone else into not bringing him up.

Barnes' middle name is Jordan. His mom recorded UNC and Chicago Bulls games so her unborn son "could learn how to play the game". Roy got a last minute, swoop-in visit with HB40. Harrison didn't spend much time with players or staff other than K on his official.

Hindsight can be 20/20, because through it all, until the day of, a lot of us thought we got him. So I understand the trepidation. The fact is, Duke is in a different stratosphere right now. K is out Calipari-ing Calipari. I'll let Frank tell you where he's going, but I have a pretty good idea. ;)

I guess that whole Harrison Barnes thing has a silver lining, he never won a mother effing thing his entire college career. Cheers* 6:35....oh how sweet it is ! GO DUKE!!!!!

Hence a big reason why he does get brought up from time to time. Mr. Pre-season AA never won a tournament of any kind in his career and he stayed two years.
