I always thought he thought he was above to law with all the breaking into apartments with shotguns and stuff, but when the storm came through Jackson last april and a tree was laying through my house. He was going around the neighborhoods and talking with folks and trying to ease nerves. He stopped by my house and talked with me for a while. Made me kinda change my views toward him.

I am not sure death is what is needed but Melton just looks completely worn out. Losing the election might be the best thing for him health wise.

mine will only have one mother.

Btw, Melton is now "gravely ill" according to the news and on a respirator. Maybe you'll get your wish you sick f***.

.......so that the city can go back to it's regularly scheduled corruption without people like Melton interfering. The drug dealers will once again feel safe.

I don't live in Jackson, thank God, but if anyone seriously believes that any single one of these fruits running for Mayor believes a damn word of what they're peddling to the public to get their asses elected, then there's no hope for that city. Every four years it's going to be the same story. Some ******* will tell everyone what they want to hear, the main topic will always be crime, and nothing will really ever get better............especially the crime. Then everyone will runb to the polls to elect another self-serving, lying puppet.

Say what you will about Frank Melton, but at least he was nobody's puppet.

today, I think the good citizens of the town of Rock Ridge have summed up Jackson's situation.

"We might as well just face it....our town is turning into ****."

As for Melton, he isn't as big a crime fighter as you think he is. Personally, from some people I know, I think he's a punk.</p>

Croom never was indicted.

Seriously, Harvey Johnson did a lot of good for Jackson as mayor. And as Mutt noted, Crisler got McMillin's endorsement, which is a good thing. And if they're puppets, I'd rather have either of them as mayor in place of Melton. I cannot think of anything both positive and significant to Jackson that happened because of Melton being mayor. The work to get the Convention Complex funded was done during the Johnson administration.

Could not confirm it, but I have heard the same from a source with ties to the family. We should know something soon enough.

just to clarify. And I heard something from someone who I assign no credibility to whatsoever, but it did at least corroborate it.

I figured it was pretty serious. Has she ever been in Jackson? Was she even there the night he got elected?

This may be common knowledge to those of you that live in and around Jackson, but why the hell does the mayor's wife live in Texas?

practice at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Their kids went to college in Texas. Have to assume she wasn't willing to give up Texas and he obliged.

was terrible for bringing new businesses to Jackson, which is what we need. Didn't quite understand that new business brings new jobs, but whatever- I hope he loses and Crisler gets it. Honestly though I don't really care because as mentioned before, nothing will happen. Hope I'm wrong.

Hope Melton pulls through, I think the guy had good intentions.

And I agree, this thread should probably be locked, just sayin.

I heard he had a tracheotomy and is on life support. She might be thinking about pulling the plug... Pure speculation..
