LaRussa has always been hesistant to make changes like this. Hopefully he's sick enough of seeing ****** pitching in the 9th to pull the plug on Franklin's era as closer.

He throws hard and I like his stuff. But location with his fastball has always been a problem. Franklin is locked in through this year and LaRussa loves the veterans, so we'll most likely have to suffer through the rest of this year. You would think 4 blown saves in 4 save opportunities would be enough to give someone else a shot at closing.</p>

Although, he did put himself in precarious positions both times.<div>

Seems to prefer closers that are more control guys as opposed to flamethrowers. See Eckersley, Izzy, and now Franklin. All used to be starters as well. Personally, I prefer the flamethrowers. I want to see Motte.

If the pattern holds true then we will see Bautista get a chance and I have read some rumors and rumblings that it might happen. I really would rather see Motte.
