Frazier is quietly having a very good MLB career.

Good for Frazier. He’s certainly not been any kind of offensive force, but he’s been as useful as you can be in the field…..started multiple games at every position except catcher and 1B (including DH). Those guys can hang around a long time, and are always in demand somewhere.

Meanwhile, Jake Mangum also eclipsed 100 hits for the season the other day….pretty damn good for a rookie. He has an outside shot at 1,000 hits. Looking like Renfroe won’t make it. Nate Lowe still has a shot, he’s under 30 and is at 781 right now. Rooker is about halfway there.

Pretty hard to believe how rare it is for a player to get even 1,000 hits in todays game. The platoon craze and the reduced averages in favor of XBH swings has really reduced the number of guys in contention for that milestone. Growing up it seemed like you had a new guy in the 2,000 or 3,000 hit club every year.
