Fredi Gonzalez should be beaten.

He managed horribly in September. Linebrink in the 13th with Minor in the pen? Lowe last night instead of Huddy on 3 days rest or Minor available? Making the call for Bourn to steal 3rd with 2 on, no outs, and Chipper up? Pitching to Pence with a sub .200 batter on deck? I'm starting to realize why the Marlins got rid of Gonzalez. He doesn't seem to make very smart decisions, and he makes some poor in game decisions. He's done it all year and we've gotten by, but it bit us tonight. Dumb calls and we paid for it.

Losing Hanson and Jurrjens hurt, but man we stunk this month. I love baseball, but watching people make decisions for your team that make zero sense drives me nuts.

You misspelled a word. I fixed it for you. If that mother17er is still employed by Liberty Media tomorrow, I'm boxing up everything I own that says Atlanta Braves and putting it in storage. Watching the stupid **** he pulled all season long was excruciating. I'm not going to put myself through that again next year.

He looked like an idiot this month. Losing 3 starting pitchers (I'm counting Lowe's sorry *** too) is probably the biggest fault, but damn. No excuse for only winning 7 games the entire month when 15 of those games were against the Mets/Marlins/Nats. None.

He had been with the team before, he made the right call with Hanley Ramirez on his loafing for the ball which to me meant he was comfortable being in charge and running the show.

But his beyond Bobby Cox-like use of the bullpen, his lineup moves that make no sense, like having Diaz in tonight vs. a righty while Constanza and his speed sits on the bench, and his overall attitude of just not really seeming to care, especially in post game interviews, just doesn't jive with me. I don't think he can motivate the team.

I guess as a Braves fan I haven't had to deal with this before. Those mid to late 2000's years we didn't deserve to go to the playoffs. The 90's and early 2000's teams had enough talent to go to the postseason, even if they didn't win the WS, but they always played like they deserved to go to the playoffs. This years team had the most overall talent I've seen on a Braves team in a while, but underachieved throughout the course of the year, especially on offense, more than any other unit I've seen since the 90's teams.

in the bottom of the 6th he left in Diaz to face a righty, then in the top of the 7th replaced him with Heyward (who leads the team in OBP this month).

he pulled Hudson at the correct time (for some inexplicable reason he has been good all year at pulling the starter) and correctly went to O'Flaherty, who threw TWO pitches. and then he of course pinch-hit for him and replaced him with Venters, who has an ERA of 6 this month, but even more importantly has been wild as hell probably due to a tired arm. Completely by the book, and completely idiotic. Venters loaded the bases on two walks and a hit batter (and i hope Howard is hurt, that's what the Phillies deserve for playing a hurt player in a meaningless-for-them game), but got out of it. but that brought the top of the order around for Kimbrel, and it bit them.

making bullpen decisions in September based on results in April is a sure way to lose.

"He's done it all year and we've gotten by, but it bit us tonight."

We've not gotten by. It's cost us 5-10 games.
