Is there a list of “free agents” MSU is targeting? I know we have a Prospect list that is on the recruiting page of High School players. Is there such a list for portal prospects?

Seems to me DL prospects would be less than eager to come here after this season. What do you tell them, about David Turner? If you fire him you probably don't have a replacement yet when the portal opens, do you tell them to "trust us"? Yeah right...... If you don't fire him how do you explain the ineptitude? Yeah, I'm not looking for any Chris Jones or Fletcher Cox transfers from the portal but I don't even expect anything of quality either

Pretty sure they are not firing him. His contract runs out. I think they plan on hiring somebody before his contract expires. Like maybe a week or two from now

Yeah, in all honesty, I don’t think I’d even bother with the elite or almost elite types. If there’s a special connection that we can leverage, so be it, but otherwise, I’d rather find 5-6 semi developed kids that may have only been 3* in HS rather then blow a bunch of time and $ on big guns. Competent depth is going to help us much more than a 5* at this point

Sadly enough I think you're right. The only thing is even a stable of competent DL, it's really hard to be even good without one disruptive player on the DL. Our defense in 2012 had pretty decent players across the board, but was generally pretty bad. Some of that was certainly coaching, some of that was having somebody playing end that probably should have been playing on the interior, but it's not easy to coach defense if you don't have a single player that is consistently a threat to beat somebody in one-on-one battles on the line.

I figure we have depth pieces now. We just need to add 3 or 4 difference makers to the mix. I assume KBJ will be back. Travion Williams, Kai McClendon Deonte Anderson ?? Who am I missing. I'm not even gonna count Dink. Kpaka and Demonte are seniors. I gotta check the roster I guess. Hell we might need 6 or 7...lol ETA I left out Hibbler( not sure why he didn't play) and jucos Shepphard and Clark

Yeah, we need to build up the back half of the roster and the scout team.

We will need to spend some serious Jack if we want good DL players. They and OL players are the highest priority players for blue chip programs. We can do it because we've done it before.
