Day five of the unjust psedo-suspension of Renardo Sidey gives us an M-State stomach punch moment. Well, maybe not a stomach punch, but definitely like the NCAA took off their white gloves, put them together in their hand, and gave us a quick forehand/backhand slap across the cheeks. It's not so much a punishment as it is a reminder of our relative place in the world of college basketball.
John Wall is a freshmens at the University of Kentucky. Perhaps you have heard of him. He's supposed to be pretty good. Like one and done good. Like All-SEC and All this and that good. As they did with Renardo, the NCAA saw fit to suspend him as well for some rather shady activities. Unlike their treatment of Renardo, the NCAA asked, nay they DEMANDED that Wall sit out a whopping two games, one of which was an exhibition game, so let's be honest here....they made him sit out one freaking game. No bank records were asked for. No internal Reebok account numbers got confused. Two games, only one of which mattered, and then he's good to go. Last night, in his first regular season game, he did this.
