These coaches that think going against conventional wisdom crack me up.

Fact is, many have tried to go against the flow and failed.

Take the points that the game gives you. It's as simple as that.

That being said (I'm agreeing), I think too many coaches try to kick a field goal too many times when it's 4th and short in opponents' territory when it could it's 50/50, don't utilize the pooch instead of the punt that nets 15 yards, or the flea flicker. The first two REALLY bother me, but why don't more teams use the flea flicker more often? It's the best play ever drawn up. It's like the play option BUT BETTER. When the option became really popular again WITH the passing game I thought we'd see it a couple times a week between the 50 odd teams that run that offense but you're lucky to see it once every other week, and that's if you watch the ****** games where those guys take a lot of chances.

No one uses the flea flicker anymore because it's outdated. The trick plays you typically see now develop much faster and don't require the defense to play exactly into your hands at several key points during the play in order for it to work.

I'm only 15% serious, but if we're going to entertain the best play ever drawn up in football being used regularly in college football in 2013 I'd draw it up like the pistol and lateral that ***** all day. Boom. In college football it'd have the highest percentage of success of any other play.
