Freeze's comments about academics....

Does anyone know how bad of a situation they're really in? So far I'm getting the feeling that Freeze is one of those doom and gloom guys that paints a terrible picture so A. He can buy himself more time, and B. So if Brassel and Scott somehow qualify it will look like Freeze gave them the motivation to get it done. Not saying it's a bad move for him to make, but I'm curious to see just how bad it is. I bet he's just trying to make winning 4 games look heroic. Anyone know how bad the academics really are?

It was so bad with Brassel that someone has to actually sit in class with him. Said they had attempted to drive him to pick him up and drive him to class. He would get out of the car and wait until it drove off and jump in a students car that would take him right back to his apartment/house.

Then they had someone walk him to class and actually watch him go into the classroom. They said he would sit down for five minutes, stand up and get a ride back to his house. They claimed that coaches / or administration caught him supposedly in class but at his place playing playstation.

He now claims they have to have someone go and sit in every class with him and that doesn't even include the amount of studying they have to make him do. He supposedly had a buckshot.

I have no clue if there is a single ounce of truth to what he told me.

But I don't believe it. I believe those rumors are extremely overblown. No way any coach goes to those measures for a players that does not care. I have a hard time believing it is that bad. He probably doesn't do any work outside the class room and skipps some classes but no way he's jumping in and out of cars to avoid someone assigned to him. That's sounds like some kind of movie

While some of that may be true.... I find it hard to believe that things have changed THAT much on the plantation. I fully expect Brassel to miraculously buckle down and "buy in" in time to bring those grades up and be on the field this fall. I may be wrong though

He's not going to learn a thing by being forced to go to class; he'll just sit there and daydream. Same for "studying". It's not just him, it's anybody.<div>
</div><div>Are Freeze's requirements for him to go to class or to actually pass? If it's to pass (legitimately) then there's no hope. A person has to want to learn.</div>
