He's a genius. You come into Mississippi, talk about God, spin the worst loss in 100 years to make it look like an improvement, call every kid Dan's calling and run your mouth, and in the wake of a primetime game against #1 Alabama at their place... You bench your starting QB.

Monday I'm going to hear all about how "if Wallace played we would have won". Took a page out of Nutt's playbook on that one.

I actually think its smart. Make Burnetti the sacrificial lamb. Wallace is banged up and a banged up QB vs Bama is asking for a long term injury. I don't think it's that far fetched that Wallace plays. If Bama knocks Burnetti out, who would go in? Michail Miller?

Here's a little secret: This is exactly what Arkansas did with Wilson.

“We’ve got to go back to work and forget about Saturday. There are some positive things on the film. There are obviously a lot of things we’ve got to get corrected. I’m disappointed in the times where we did not fit plays properly. We gave up a lot of big plays over the top. On the other hand, there were times where we fit it perfectly and physics took over and they still got five yards. It’s hard to battle that part of it. The times where we didn’t fit it properly, we have to get those fixed. Offensively we had a few too many negative plays. We had nine negative plays, which got us of course. When you have third-and-long against a group like that, you’re going to have a long afternoon. There were a lot of positives too. The real positive that everyone saw was that our kids did fight. They did battle for 60 minutes. Unfortunately we were not able to keep the game close and let our crowd be that 12th man. It was electric. The crowd was phenomenal. I wish we could have gotten to the fourth quarter and been down by only a couple of scores. We were moving the football. We wish we could have let them get behind us some, but we weren’t able to do that. We’re excited about getting back on the field so we can get this taste out of our mouth. We’re going to see if we can improve, clean up some of our mistakes and travel down to Tulane and get a win.”

An example of obvious, ignorant spin by Freeze. Hang him tbqh.

I read he's not practicing.

He has an injured throwing shoulder that he hurt in the 1st and 3rd quarter against Tulane and had ice on at the end of the game on the sidelines. He also has had a minor left shoulder issue since before Texas that wouldn't hold him out.

I guess when you read he's not practicing you skipped over where he said he would play Saturday. From yesterday:
"Bo could have done some stuff today - he wanted to, but we told him no," said Freeze. "We will probably start working him in some tomorrow. He was itching to go today, so we'll probably get him reps tomorrow."

From Monday:
“I think he’ll be fine, but you never know when you’re dealing with injuries to quarterbacks. He was moving around yesterday and doing OK. I don’t know if he will be ready (to practice) Tuesday. But I do expect him to go (against Alabama).”

The worst lost in 100 years, occurred last year when he was coaching at ASU. How is he spinning that? Calling every kid Dan is calling and run your mouth? Are you telling me two teams in the same conference and state recruit the same players? Come on now. And finally Wallace is playing. Wonderful thread as usual

No spin, everyone knows how badly Ole Confederate U sucks. Let me make it clear for you, we are enjoying the rapid decline of your program and most of us MSU fans will point out and make fun of anything that is related to your dumpster fire of a program. If you are looking for a message board that praises Ole Confederate U and their 40 point loss to Texas, go to the Spirit. I doubt that anyone will notice your absence here. Beat an SEC school and silence the critics, it is that easy. Until then, grow some balls and realize that your current football team is pure comedy to the rest of the conference and to the entire nation. We are your "secondary" rival, you should have enough common sense to know what to expect while visiting this board as a Confederate supporter.

I hate Ole Miss as bad as anybody but how else should a coach that has a crappy team act...should he just say.."We suck...we cant do anything right.....Bama will crush us..we will be luck to win another game..."...I mean seriously I think that a coach does have to make the best of the situation and look for some kind of positives to not only build on but the generate some moral for the team...

Obviously this makes me a closet rebel, but your entire post is what makes me hate rival fans. I enjoy the back and forth with fans that are realistic and can have normal conversations about things. Obviously, you don't fall into that category. I don't get why people can't understand why Ole Miss ( or should I say Ole Confederate U, don't want to confuse you), and their fans are optimistic. I haven't seen any of them predicting a win this weekend or anything. Last year, their team quit. This year, they show signs of life and have beaten the teams they were supposed to. I will give you all the optimism from the Texas loss was a little ridiculous. However, we are 4 games into the season, and at this point, they should be encouraged from what they see. Can they stay competitive in some of the big SEC games? We will wait and see. It is just funny to me how we forget we were in this exact same position 3 years ago. We had a team that quit on the former coach, hired some new that brought energy, went 5-7, and left that season very optimistic. Its obviously too early, but it seems to me like Ole Miss could be headed for that same scenario.

I understand where you are coming from, but did MSU give up 70 points at any point during Mullen's first season here? If so, did our fans go to opposing teams' message boards begging for praise after getting beat down?

I don't get to read the board all the time, so if Ole Miss fans actually came here to create a thread wanting us to tell them they looked good, then yes that can be made fun. What I feel like probably happened, is someone here went to their board and brought the topic back over here to make fun of them. I mean I don't like Ole Miss just as much as the next guy, but it seems no one can just have a normal conversation about it anymore. Ole Miss isn't good, and I don't think many of their fans really think they are. However, I would say if you look at it objectively, they are much better than many of us thought they would be. For that reason alone, they should be excited. For some reason, that just infuriates some of our fans. They will get a reality check this weekend. We will get to see if their is improvement, and their resolve will be tested. I'm interested to see how they look.

Great Post. I always argue that we really don't care as much about ole miss as people say, because I thought it was true. This site says otherwise. Freeze is doing a good job. Why is everyone so ********? We're 17'n 4-0. Sheesh.

Come back in three weeks and I will explain it to you. You may want to win an SEC game before you declare that Rebel football is back on track. The close loss to Texas and the huge Tulane win is a start though, really impressive. Has the Rebel fan base ever been more excited about a 40 point loss? The answer to that is no and I honestly can't recall the last time that the UM football program was this ******. Based on the past 28 games, I would say that the Rebel football program is defintely trending downward. Agree to disagree, I guess.
