"I'm not letting my kid drive down there" is the answer. They will be well represented in Huntley.
Oh - they are snobby out here! I'm not - but I answered the "question" why there were not a lot of kids there. That and Palatine was at home ... these kids are all friends.WOW!! Hate to say but Brother Rice is in a great neighborhood. Bring your nose down to our level. It's nice down here.
I'd challenge the Chicago neighborhood ignorant that 99th and Pulaski might be safer than parts of Palatine."I'm not letting my kid drive down there" is the answer. They will be well represented in Huntley.
But that part of Palatine is Lake Country and in Palatine High district.I'd challenge the Chicago neighborhood ignorant that 99th and Pulaski might be safer than parts of Palatine.
Fremd grads - correct. The ex wife showed me the year books.Well I wouldn't stop for carry out chicken in Palatine, either!
Stay out of the Chuck e Cheese by BR too.Well I wouldn't stop for carry out chicken in Palatine!
BooooooooooWell I wouldn't stop for carry out chicken in Palatine!

My buddy from grade school Mike Castro was murdered during the execution. What a POS comment.Knowing people who knew the Ehlenfeldts...I can unequivocally say that was a reprehensible statement....
No disregarding your hypothesis here. I was referring to "overall" as in "across the state". Simply posing a question on the online availability's impact to high school attendance in general.I gave you two plausible reasons. You chose to disregard because you did not like the answer.
Mom and dad don't want their Lexus down there and Palatine was playing at home.
Ignorant posts here by many. The truth is that attendance was down everywhere- lots of fair-weather fans and students that chose to watch the Cubs Friday and Saturday. First round attendance isn't usually well attended to begin with (colder weather). More access to games online (cube) and CSN doesn't help either.
Only option would be a Saturday day game as the Cubs played Saturday night as well. Lots of big time college football on TV Saturday to compete with, so you really can't win.I was surprised at the number of Friday night games scheduled given the Cubs in the World Series...
What does palatine at home have to do with Fremds attendanceI gave you two plausible reasons. You chose to disregard because you did not like the answer.

Fremd is in Palatine. Palatine is where Palatine High plays. The schools are not "rivals" in the sense there is not animosity. Friends watching other friends play ball. Also, Palatine was "the team" to watch, thus, some may have chosen to stay local and avoid the long drive down 294. My kid is a senior and I'm not comfortable with her on the expressway alone but she's driven to Wisconsin taking Rand Rd.What does palatine at home have to do with Fremds attendance
Don't blame 'em... those rough "Hindsale" neighborhoods are pretty scary. Not a lot of WV fans in Hinsdale on Sat either. Surprised me.
IMO Montini is an exception. At the Ignatius game, Montini appeared to have more students and fans than Iggy.IMO, many of the previous reasons for low attendance are valid. Also, non-playing students supporting HS sports has been declining for years. HS sports just don't hold the same significance for most students, as they once did. There are some exceptions, but interest in playing and watching HS football has greatly declined.
My granddaughter is a Sr. this year, and she went to every home game, and none of the away games. It may just be what students do these days.
there are plenty of exceptions. But as a rule, I think everyone can agree attendance is down across the board.IMO Montini is an exception. At the Ignatius game, Montini appeared to have more students and fans than Iggy.
Man, you are old!!![]()

They had a nice Pub - "Fuller's"? right there in downtown that was nice for lunch and a couple of 3Floyds to wash it down before the 1pm kickoff!
But yeah thin crowds for both home and away teams.
Cubs in the World Series for first time in 71 years and the CFB slate on Saturday... tough to compete with for a Round 1 game.

They were playing Taft, right?LWE fans came out Saturday afternoon!! Visitors side was completely full while the home stands didn't have enough people to cover the number of kids on the team. It was a sad turnout for the home team.
Crusader, but didn't they run student busses to the game?Mom and dad don't want their Lexus down there and Palatine was playing at home.
Sometimes they do. I'm not aware that they did this time.Crusader, but didn't they run student busses to the game?
