I was at the mt Tabor scrimmage tonight. The new QB for Walkertown look pretty good has some good receivers. Mt Airy didn't play their starters much they have some good athletes. Passing game will still be question mark for the Bears.

I was at the Mt. Tabor scrimmage checking out all the teams but mainly Mt. Airy. MA’s defense is lights out at least the starting defense is. The run D clogs the middle and still makes it tough to break outside with great team speed especially the two DE’s. The defense is light years ahead of the Offense. Depth maybe an issue.. The overall varsity numbers seemed a lil down for a team of that caliber. You would think there would be 40 or more on the roster but i didn’t see it. The new QB def passes the Eye Test… He barely flicks his wrist and the ball goes a ton. He did get a lil rattled with Parkland’s antics. MA overall looks good. and offensively they weapons.. with a Qb that has a cannon for an arm..Maybe the coaches let the starters take care of business more at the next scrimmage.. I bet Parkland and Walkertown felt themselves to be at least equal to MA from what was shown at the scrimmage. Like i said the starters at least watched half of the last scrimmage with Parkland rather than playing. The MA reserves got hit over the top with the long ball several times. Gave Parkland fans a better show than i expected! MA is very physical. If they come to really play… they will be scary for most teams in the area.

The QB's from Walkertown and Parkland were much better than the Bears QBs. Still plenty of time to settle in

3 of us Mt Airy tailgaters by in large agree with DaBlue Print1. Coach Taylor did not show a lot on Friday except two short periods.
First team against 3A Walkertown just locked them down, first 3 defensive plays Mt Airy was in the backfield by the 3 Count.
On the 2nd and 3rd defensive units Walkertown had a fair amount of success.

On offense, the Bears did not run a single 2 back set, had the junior QB play the majority of snaps, looking at a lot of different sets. Did not accomplish much.

Mt Airy had two starters on slide line not dressed. Once Walkertown started getting a little bit snippy on the 2nd and 3rd Defense, Coach Taylor put his starters back in late, shut Walkertown down again, we believe just to send a message.

Against 7A Parkland, Mt Airy started play with their 2nd and 3rd teams. Parkland had some success on both defense and offense. When things again got a little snippy, the last quarter of the scrimmage, Coach Taylor put his starters in on both sides and made a quick statement about which team could completely dominate the game if they wanted two.

On offense he went to the two-back set with the freshman QB and scored two quick TD's.

Again, the 3 Tailgaters collective opinion is that Walkertown and Mt Tabor really showed well, especially when they scrimmaged each other. And Walkertown will be a handful in 3A.

Mt Airy, it seemed to us, to try and get really good looks at the number 2 and 3 people, as it was pretty doggone clear who the 1's are.
And the few plays with the #1s in, it is pretty clear Mt Airy and Mt Tabor were the class of the field. Having said that, the Defense is ahead of the offense at this time.
We think the reason for this is giving the junior every chance to win the starting QB position, but the Freshman is clearly the better bet if not day one, certainly shortly down the road, in our opinion.

Sounds like you guys are pretty dead on. The defense usually is ahead of the offense. I'm sure they weren't giving away very much. From watching them that I wouldn't say that the quarterbacks from the other schools are for ahead of the bears quarterbacks. Although I do think that walkertown and both parkland would finish second in the conference to the bears. I think they're probably far as to anybody else in the league. Brooklyn is a terrible seven a school a very dead gum good three a school.

So you think Walkertown is better than last year. That receiver #0 was pretty good last year. They finished 3rd to Reidsville and West Stokes

That and I need to use spell check when I type haha. I do think they are. Better than last year. But if those 1 year ghosts get them they are gonna be down 4 to 5 youngins. Some fishy stuff going on with addresses over there.

The QB they had last year is at Forbush.
