I mean I know he left Tulane to go to Houston for family but he was ripe for picking after Mullen left

Correct me if I’m wrong, but we did go after him. Lebby was our third or fourth choice. We went after Chadwell too.
I think we contacted him. Not sure what happened. Sumrall was who I wanted. Think he turned us down.

Yeah it thought so too. But some people think we can get a quality head coach after firing our 3rd coach with two seasons or less in the past 8 seasons. This 💩 sandwich State fans have to eat has a lot of chefs, but we’re stuck with it.

I wouldn’t cry if Lebby gets fired, but the pickings would be mighty slim for someone willing to take over.

This is a well perpetrated myth out there, probably orchestrated by Jimmy Sexton to create this air of scarcity and drive prices up.

There are a ton of good coaches out there. Key is finding the right fit for your program, and timing/experience depending on what the program is able to offer them.

I’d go with a good experienced G5 coach. CHESNEY at JMU should have been contacted early in the year. Candle at Toledo , the MAC has produced a lot of good coaches.

Not only that, he stripped Barbrady of playcalling duties about halfway thru the season.
Remember when we beat South east Louisiana and the peanut gallery was declaring Barbrady the next Vince Lombardi. We followed that game up with seven yards of total offense in the first half against LSU.

Don't think candle leaves state of Ohio at this point. Chesney atJmu is iffy considering cig made that program what it is.

Either would be a really good hire compared to what we have currently. Chesney is being mentioned for the PSU job, 130-51, hes exactly the kind of coach this program should target. no training wheels.
Yes we need experience and experience winning in power 4 or g5 with head coach

I’m named after a long-haired Dachshund we had the pleasure to have a few years with, when I finally signed up here. Lost my old avatar of him with the on3 migration.

Well, it's not that we are too good to go after him, it's that we aren't looking for a new coach right now. Simple as that.
We could have hired him when we hired Arnett. We’re not hiring him away from Houston.

At that time, though, he only had the one great year at Tulane and was 2-10 the season prior, it’s not like he was a can’t-miss hire.

You’re neglecting the fact that he has over 200 wins as a head football coach and had literally worked his way up from juco to DII to Small D-1 to Tulane and BEAT USC with a roster that was less talented from every metric in a NY6 bowl.

Fritz had won at every level as a head coach.

people are failing to understand how important it is to hire coach who has experience running a program. We have paid for ALL of Lebbys lessons the hard way.

You clowns will punch holes in anything, no matter if all the logic is against you.

Not to mention the fact that when you hire him in 2023, he was 63 and you can bank on about 5-7 good years. Maybe 10. Because he’s not going anywhere, like Fritz now and Cignetti.
