"Well y'all might as well get ready.. I knew A. J wasn't going to State since 11 grade.. His dad got into it with Mullen so I have heard that's probably why he didn't go on the visit.. Simmons could've easily went to USM if his brother wasn't leaving.. I will put money on it that he won't come to State.."

Well Mullen and company didn't give her son the time of day, so there is no animosity from the Dantzler family at all toward MSU. And quite frankly, I can't blame them. Lorenzo had a helluva year and could end up being a helluva college player. He wouldn't come now if we paid him but we absolutely sucked *** recruiting our freaking home area. Embarrassing

What could they possibly "get into it" over? Playing time? Redshirting? Benefits?

I think Mullen is just burned out at State and is pissy he didn't get another job, so he's not interested in recruiting for one, I'm sure, and I bet his emotions get to him now quite a bit as a result.

If he really did want out or to position himself to get a 'better' place to coach it has to be a punch in the gut. He had the #1 team in the nation for 5 weeks at Mississippi State. And with what he did for Dak and Dak for him.

He may be feeling a little defeated inside. Disappointment does different things to different people. We are about to see what Dan Mullen is made of.

Considering some of the other stuff he's put up with at State I wouldn't be expecting a change. Cam Newton, etc...but a lot of that is on him and his stubbornness. I have a feeling he's been going through the motions for a while, especially now.

T Buck and Sirmon don't agree. I know Mullen does a lot of frustrating things and deserves criticism.

But he has done a lot of things right too.

Those 2 young coaches saw something they believe in and want to be a part of it or they wouldn't have come.

All my opinion of course*

In the end he will adapt or he won't be here much longer. That much is certain.

I just don't buy that logic. If I applied that to my career, I would get fired and end up with a worse job, not better.

People who want better jobs don't slack in the ones they currently have.

I guarantee all this is because the staff wouldn't give Danztler the time of day...Dantlzer just tweeted that he told all of us it was going to be a sad day in Starkville and it "begun" today.

This is what I was thinking.

AJ'S dad didn't get into it with Mullen. He wanted his son at State. Dantzler is not an SEC player so no need to go there. This is sour grapes. But go ahead with the Mullen bashing.

Well it looks like we're going to have room for him if it meant it was a package deal....I don't care what size he is.

You say room for him in the singular sense. At this point we have room for 7 Lorenzo Dantzlers. I'm not kidding.

Dumb thread is dumb...

1. Considering that the AJ rumors started fairly recently and prior to those he was considered a State lean, I seriously doubt that she knew "since 11th grade".

2. I'm pretty sure I remember Paul Jones saying that AJ didn't go on a visit, but his parents spent 4-hrs on campus last Thursday. So his father wanted to go yell back for 4-hrs?

3. I call BS - it sure seems like 100% sour grapes.

In retrospect, AJ has NEVER showed much interest in MSU. We had to beg him to camp. When he did show up, he never worked out. Seemed to me, him being in the same town was the only reason he came around.
