The stars were out in full force in Lafayette for the Cajuns' homecoming win over New Mexico State.

Five-star Gerald Willis (Edna Karr) was there, along with older brother, Alabama defensive back Landon Collins, along with LSU four-star o-line commit Garrett Brumfield, John Curtis four-star LB Kenny Young, Donaldsonville four-star WR Stephen Sullivan, Donaldsonville three-star WR Jaquel Gant and Woodlawn-Shreveport four-star defensive tackle T.D. Moton.

"Coach Hud offered T.D. Saturday," said Courtney Walker, father of Parkway 2016 DB C.J. Morgan, who already holds an offer fro the Cajuns.

"T.D. loved it at UL. They moved up into his top five. C.J. loved it, too. They can't wait to go back. The atmosphere was great. The stadium was completely packed with UL fans - no visiting fans.

"When got there Coach (Marquase) Lovings took time out to come greet us. T.D. and C.J. talked with Coach Lovings, Coach Hud and Coach (Tim) Rebowe. It was just an awesome atmosphere. They even had a deejay in the locker room.."

Walker said his son would like to return on the 30th.

"The coaches reaffirmed that they want C.J.," his dad said. "The boys really enjoyed the pre-game talk with Coach Hud.

"The fans were really into it, too. New Mexico State jumped on UL early but that made it even better when the Cajuns came back to win."

One of my rep's lives and went to school at L-L

and he said that the town is absolutely crazy about Huds. They definitely do NOT want to see him leave.

It's all Greg Byrne's fault, despite him being so loved by MSU fans. Should have hired Hud when we had the chance. I think Byrne was loved so much because he was such a breath of fresh air from our previous AD. Don't think he had any real love for State, and used us as a stepping stone.

Truthfully, I wish this happened more often. That means they have done a hell of a job at state. If theyre trying to go on to bigger and better things that means they're going to try even harder to do a great job for us. I'm tired of the Scott stricklin, Rocky felker, bracky Brett mold...they come here and do nothing bc they have no further career aspirations. I could give two ***** if our leaders have ties to msu and would rather they didn't so a fresh pair of eyes could right our wrongs and hopefully take us to the next level.

Does the fact that Hud was 0-2 vs. Arkansas State while Freeze and Malzahn were head coaches cause you any concern. I have no idea about the two programs going head to head at the time, but you wouldn't think the talent difference would be that significant.

I understand your point, but so is Mullen (0-2)

All while getting his recruiting clock cleaned by both those guys, something I believe Hud would do a better job at.

///I know we need to get rid of Bracky. That's another discussion.

Not really. Both of those teams won the Sun Belt and were built to a pretty high level when Hud played them. Freeze was an assistant at Arky St for 1.5 recruiting classes before getting the head job as well.

Hud inherited a dumpster fire, won 9, 9, and is in position to win 11 this year -- and beat Petrino and Harsin on the road. He's earned his stripes at this point.

Freeze's team was the favorite to win the Sun Belt while Hud's was picked to finish last. If I remember right that one game was what separated the Sun Belt champion that year. I can remember watching ULL lose by 50 to USM... the culture of that program is an awful one. On the other hand ASU has a handful of current NFL starters.

We're talking about a guy taking over the worst of the Sun Belts and losing head to head to a guy who took over the favorite. The 0-2 stat doesn't really do anything for me.

Not sure if like it.

It's no different than players listening to loud music before a game. How else are you supposed to get turnt up without music? I imagine this goes on for 30-45min to get players fired up while getting dressed and it does appeal to recruits to make your brand stand out. When Hud gets ready to talk, I guarantee the DJ shuts off and the players listen.

At Rockytop they use a DJ on the field prior to the game for like 2 hours. He's actually a former player. Man he has that place hopping.

What I got from this was "New Mexico State jumped on UL early". Damn, N. Mex St is 1-8 and giving up 46ppg ranked 123rd total Defense and 94th total offense.
