The REAL Story
_________________________________________________
A talented young
man goes to a major football school, known for lax discipline. He soon
realizes that the starter ahead of him is a world class talent, and some
of his natural immaturity leads to a few poor decisions. His father is
keeping a close eye, and eventually pulls him from that environment,
entrusting him to a coach in the middle of nowhere. He sleeps on the
coach's couch, and spends his spare time doing maintenance work on the
stadium. He finds himself, becomes a natural leader, and leads the team
to a national championship, and himself to a sense of purpose and
redemption. He moves to Auburn and before his name becomes a household
word he volunteers at a local school, working with kids who maybe don't
have a father like his. He sets an example of work on the practice
field, and his teammates, including at least three who coveted the
starting quarterback position, rally around him. And that's about the
time we all start watching.
The REAL story is like a movie about
redemption. The FALSE story is like a sleazy tabloid piece about
corruption. And we are privileged to be able to witness the REAL story
playing out before our eyes. Only at Auburn.
