The good: Mississippi State (1) was the lone school to list a capacity crowd, putting 55,082 in Davis-Wade Stadium to see the Bulldogs maul Jackson State 56-9. Though Dash spies say that's a tickets sold number and there were empty seats.

Guys, I hope yall know how big of feat this is for Mississippi State. I sat in that stadium (have I told yall I have been a fan for 30 years?) many times in years in which we were good and saw whole sections empty. I think it is a huge testament to present leadership (I don't care if it is paid vs actual) that the State fans continue to fill DWS.

Here is to a win this weekend and keeping the excitement going.

....and now to the trolling

The bad: Mississippi (2) had 10,000 empty seats for the debut of new coach Hugh Freeze. While putting a capacity 60,580 in the stands for Central Arkansas might be expecting too much, the Rebels still were down nearly 11 percent from opening attendance in 2011. Presumptive whiny fan excuse: After two terrible seasons, we'll wait and see. Dash response: Ole Miss fans are all tailgate, no toughness.

I thought it looked really full for J State. Two years ago there was many empty seats up top when we played them....

Why exactly does Pat Forde care about the attendance at either one of our games? Must have been a pretty slow news weekend.

The only sections I saw a little empty was the two upper deck sections assigned to students. They are always a little empty due to all the students cramming into the lower east side section.

I went in kind of late and they weren't letting people into the bottom student section. I think a lot of people heard that and turned around and left.
