If he did, I figure he would have gladly pointed it out already, and posted photos with peeping crooms all over the place.

If I'm a compliance officer at a school and someone is going around publicly making accusations that one of my coaches is buying players, I damn sure want to talk to him and find out what he knows or doesn't know.

so you have never in your life heard any of your friends talk about coaches paying players???? I know you have joked around about that before as has most people, that's the same thing he does.... how can you say somebody should banned for some off the cuff comment that nobody would have even noticed if Bracky didn't send the email.......

outta line IMO.......He's like the freaking secret service trying to chase down Obama haters........It's ridiculous.......If he has the time to chase down folks everytime he reads or hears a rumor of this nature then he doesn't have enough to do and will need several hundred folks working beneath him..........Total ********..........

You asked us to help you out and now you want to ***** at us.
Just because a few people gave $100 to the BC doesn't give one carte blanche to say and do whatever the hell they feel like.

You have bitten off more than you can chew messing with the six-pack.

That is hilarious. State....this is what you are up against.

I am sure we have bought players in the past like all other SEC schools.

Except only at Mississippi State do the fans run their mouth about it. State has the dumbest fans in the United States. I am convinced.

some of you were axed by Gene- for "denigrating our coach?" What about the Crooms threads during his tenure? If Mullen starts carting around practice and quoting Churchill will he be off limits? I understand and agree that transfer rumors are different than accusations of NCAA violations, but if you can't "denigrate" your coach then the terrorists have won.

Talking with a couple of friends is one thing. Putting it on a public message board with hundreds (thousands?) of people seeing it is another animal.

just seems completely ridiculous. There is no way in hell you can tell me that somebody read that and thought to themselves, Wow Stans is really paying players..... Nobody thought that and nobody even noticed it until he sent the email..... its a message board and people say stupid unsubstantiated things every day.....

I used to work with Bracky at Starkville. This is vintage Bracky. However, I can't believe he ran this by the Sports Information office. An AAD should never dignify rumors with an official response. I don't believe Byrne or anyone in the the SI office signed off on this.

Bracky should continue monitoring compliance and leave message boards to those of us who don't have an official function in MSU athletics.

But I do agree with his sentiments in regard to C34's random spewing of venom at MSU winningest coach in history.

Furthermore, this is not the first time this poster has made reference to Coach Stansbury in such terms.
I suppose they just got tired of reading Peaches' ********. He's accused Stansbury of cheating for years now.

The man's job is to keep State in compliance. The same poster repeatedly writes that we cheat, so he needs to know whether he has actual info or is just full of ****.

in the email that he realizes we are going to criticize, but to just come right and say we are cheating and I know all about it is going to get noticed.

I just find it very hard to swallow that a major university's athletic office is concerned about unofficial message board posts.

Yes, everyone program cheats. There is no way it doesn't happen when there are so many people (many of whom are unmonitored) have an emotional interest in the program. It's stupid to bring attention to it when it isn't necessary- what groundbreaking info are you making us aware of?

And the timing of this is bad. Not that I think the NCAA scours message boards- BUT if they did wouldn't you think they'd be taking a look at MSU's right now because of Sidney and Reik? Saying the HC who signed them pays players probably isn't going to help the cause...

Calipari is the Don and he's not dumb enough to give a grand in cash to a player.

What the hell does he mean regarding buying players?

Stansbury is not dumb enough to walk up to a kid with a bag of cash and give it to him. While not as traceable as a check of course, it could still theoretically be tracked eventually.

If some cash were sent to a player, how is he going to know who sent it in the first place? You going to drop an MSU hat in the bag too? You going to show up with a maroon Escalade? You going to take momma house shopping? Please......

This is just pure stoking of the fire by Coach34, like he always does. Big damn deal. Why does Brett need to know who he is? We all know Coach34 is full of **** and that Stansbury is not dumb enough to "buy" a damn player. I am surprised Brett even dignified the stupid comment anyway. The comment was made in his typical stir the pot fashion. I don't see that as starting a rumor at all. Maybe Brett just has a hard on for Stansbury and wants to break his balls anyway he can, regardless of the validity.

If some KY fan sees a recruit at XYZ bar in Lexington and walks up and stuffs $500 in his pocket there is nothing a coach or AD can do about that.

Is it not the site moderator's responsibility to protect the identity of the poster as long as nothing truly illegal is going on with them.......?

If they track this board, they should know Coach34 spews this crap all the time. And they should do like most on here and take it with a grain of salt. Can anyone who has honestly read C34's comments over the last few years really think he might actually know something about Bury paying players? Really? What has Coach ever posted that would make anyone think he would know of players being paid? He hates Stansbury. Period. That's all you need to know about this situation. If I were you, I'd tell Bracky to take a hike. This is asinine.

Not knocking SPS at all because this board has been the first to break several stories which at the time of their posting were just "rumors," but this is a message board. If this were a newspaper or site run by a news organization then absolutely there's a need for some accountability, journalistic integrity, etc. The justification that Bracky(?) is just doing his job isn't really compelling because it's not like the NCAA is going to investigate based on SPS posts, and if a journalist steals from the board without credible sources then they are putting their jobs on the line and ultimately will face the consequences.

There's no doubt that these posts will get noticed, but when you consider the sources, both the specific poster and the message board itself, the possibility of an investigation is minimal, as is the possibility that actual wrongdoing has occurred.

when we say "everyone cheats" or make a joke about a player's car or something. When you come out and name individuals and dates, which I believe Coach did a few weeks back talking about Monta Ellis, that's not going to go unnoticed.

who would have thought that the MSU AD's office would be asking for a 6pack poster's identification information and then following that up with a request to slow down the starting of rumors or the type of bashing of a coach?

peaches is an idiot but anyone who reads the board for a day or two could see that he always makes stupid *** comments about Stans cheating. this makes anyone taking him seriously a bigger idiot.

We all agree that for the charges our football team had against them, it was the 3 years of NCAA looking around that was the major damage to the program. All it takes is the NCAA investigation for a few years but not finding anything. How many 4 or 5 star players do you think Stans can get with everyone telling the recruits that we will get the death penalty. The NCAA doesn't care to drop the hammer on us, we aren't Bama who actually got caught essentially paying players but had to forfeit a few games during some ****** years. We lose scholarships over $20 for subway and a loan that gets repaid that day for tires.

it's certainly a better safe than sorry approach. But this is not the first time it's been said, and evidently it's a problem.

Like it or not, the internets can be an avenue for slander and internet slander cases have been brought forth before and won. Now I'm not saying MSU is gonna go sue anybody. Just that message boards can be more serious than you might think.

soooo, update?

HD or Dawgstudent...has Peaches turned himself in to the authoritahs yet? I can't help but notice his usually smug, arrogant *** has yet to make a comment regarding his new-found infamy. C'mon coach34, this is the kind of 'fire' you're usually chomping at the bit to throw napalm onto...what gives, Trolljaboy?

Bracky is the compliance officer. It's his job to make sure that we are on the up and up on everything. If someone on here is saying that Stans is paying players, and Brett doesn't know about it, you're essentially saying that Bracky is not doing his job, or not doing a good job.

I would probably be at least a little pissed myself.
