I am now boycotting the Jackson International Airport. No more flying internationally out of JAN!!!

From the email:

When you leave the <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1284759625_1">Jackson Airport there</span> is an <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1284759625_2">Auburn</span>
flag on the first light pole that you get to. I called the airport and
they said it was to honor the CEO who graduated from Auburn.
Here is the CEO...

... but, that actually is pretty ******. Could you imagine the backlash if there were a Miss. St. flag flying at the Montgomery airport... well, I've never been to that airport, so that may not be a good example. But what about B'Ham? And besides that - for what exactly are they honoring him? I've flown a lot for business in the past and I've been to some ****** little airports like Kalamazoo, Newburgh, NY and GTR... I'd say Jackson falls in that group somewhere.

if it was posthumous, I understand. But this guy is still alive. It's kind of weird.

Shouldn't be too hard for someone to go out there at about 2-3 AM and take care of it. I know it's an airport and all with security, but we're not talking Dallas or ATL.

and wondered why it was there. It is in the primo spot as you leave the terminal. It raised my curiosity.....but I did notice that there were flags for MSU and Ole Miss as well as USM and the other 21 HBCs along airport drive.

Anything other than a Razorback flag at the Little Rock airport, would not last over night. Mississippi........a solid #50.

....I also think the State of MS should not issue car tags promoting out-of-state colleges.

He's a great guy and has done a LOT of good things for the Jackson airport, but I agree that flying an Auburn flag is ********.

All the banners on the road into the airport are of MS colleges/universities.

AA - noticed it last Friday

I hate that I love MS so much. Our state's ineptitude constantly pisses me off. I live in Greenville, SC right now. It's a cool town. I like it. Why the 17 couldn't I be born here? Or Denver, CO? Or NY? You know, some place that doesn't suck?

if this so called CEO was any kind of decent guy he would never have allowed the flag to be put there in the first place. It is a bold display of arrogance.

Whatever, just don't leave on the interstate. Apparently the police have lasers that can track and record your license tag along I-20 in Pearl now. From the missing Clinton woman's story:

"A laser identification system used by law enforcement identified her license plate traveling through Pearl on I-20 at about 3:05 a.m. Tuesday." WTF??

Better hit the backroads and swap license tags if you're going to take down the Auburn flag, boys.

I read that story too...and sat there wondering if the reporter misunderstood the authorities OR does a laser tracking device actually exist somewhere on I20 in Pearl? That's outta some spy novel.

If it does exist, that is some high tech Homeland Security stuff there! I noticed crews working on an installation that took what seemed months at the Pearson Rd exit on I20 and there seems to be some type of black box on a pole. Wonder if that's it?

Can someone on this board explain how this device works? Why its on I20? Who maintains it? What it can do? Thanks...I am intrigued.

At least make it reciprocal. If they don't allow UM MSU USM tags in their state, then we shouldn't allow their state schools in Mississippi. (looking at you Alabama)
