Wired: Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen

Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen wore a microphone during practice this week, and ESPN was there to catch some sound. The segment will focus on the changing culture Mullen has instilled as his third season at the helm of the Bulldogs begins. Look for unique sound bites from Mullen during College GameDay Built by The Home Depot on Saturday at 10 a.m.-noon ET on ESPN. The segment will air around the 10:30 a.m. mark of the show.

Dan Mullen Wired

We want the pace of practice to be tougher than the games. If you’ve seen game days in the Southeastern Conference and the wild atmospheres you have to play in, game days are chaotic so we have to keep practice that way. But I’d say it’s very organized chaos…

We have to be better than we were yesterday. We had a good day yesterday but we have to be better than we were yesterday… We have to be a better team than we were yesterday… recklessly pursue perfection for 90 minutes.

Please contact me with any questions regarding the segment!

Thanks,
Rachel

when it comes to web/viral type marketing except for the fact that it will still work because we are a captive audience. Of course we are gonna watch that!

Just remember DS, with great power comes great responsibility. Spider-man taught me that. Take it to heart...

We've got CBS Sports saying we're set do do more this season than we have ever done before. They're saying we're going to blow out Auburn. They're saying BCS bowl.

We've got Mullen mic'd up on ESPN Gameday.

We've got sports writers around the nation oo'in and ah'ing over Mississippi State's atmosphere, football team, and general direction the program is going.

They're pretty much saying we are the SEC's Boise State. And by Boise State, I mean a team that used to be frowned on but is now ready to kick some serious ***, maybe win the conference, and at least contend for a BCS game.

Gentlemen, we are hitting on all cylinders. All we gotta do now is win.

I'm having trouble shaking the last 10 years. I find it hard to believe that we could actually be as good as people are saying.

That said, winning at Auburn would be a huge step, and if we can somehow beat LSU on Thursday on national TV, I will be OD'ing on some koolaid. Like you said, all we need to do now is win.</p>

Piece of cake. We never collapse and then ignite in flames under expectations.
