Do any of you use ADP for your payroll/hr services? And if so, have you had issues of your people not getting paid on time or wrong amounts being deposited?

Is this one of those services where you tell the service provider how much your employees worked, how much the employee should get paid, and then pay the service provider to pay your employees?

switched to ADP Run last summer (I don't recommend switching payroll providers in the middle of a year). I haven't had any problems since getting all my data and filings from my previous payroll provider sorted out and switched to ADP. That took about two months to get sorted. I won't lie. It was a PITA to get all of that switched over mid-year. ADP makes all of your filings and payments to the agencies for you. unemployment, worker's comp, state and federal monthly and quarterly filings. Now that it's all sorted out and on cruise control, I just login and click two buttons every two weeks, and my payroll is done. Everybody gets direct deposit. I switched because my previous provider failed to make my state filings three months in a row, after lying to me and saying their issues were fixed.

I’ve fired ADP 3 times at different companies. The worst customer service. Switched to Paycom, no issues.

I agree. If you’re going to switch do it at year end. Or if you’re a fiscal year maybe at December 31.

I recommend Paychex

I don't know what your employee count is and I only have anecdotal evidence for this, but I think ADP more geared toward bigger operations than small and medium size businesses.

ADP sucks
honestly, none of them are great. ADP was the best for me and I negotiated a permanent rate that beat every other payroll company by a pretty good margin. Since getting all of my company's data transferred over (mid-year), I haven't had any problems with ADP. Login, click twice, done. Unless I have to add or subtract an employee or update their withholdings. The company that I transferred to ADP from had a major back-end programming issue that caused them to not make MS Dept of Revenue and MDES filings three months in a row, causing fines for me. And lied to me two months in a row saying they had it fixed and it wouldn't happen again. Had to do something.

Paychex will not file MDES filings or payments. So, you'd be responsible for that on your own. ADP is not just for large companies. You can use them with as little as one employee (I don't know who would do that, though)

I just had a specific issue with ADP and MS income tax withholdings that created a bit of a nightmare for me. Got it resolved, but that's the kind of stuff we pay them for.

I would recommend Paychex for companies under 50 employees and ADP for larger companies. Like any other business dealings it's important to develop a good relationship with the customer service/operations aspect of the relationship.
