Current NCAA rules forbid coaches from being involved in NIL negotiations. I kinda doubt the NCAA tries to sanction Hamilton or anything, but how stupid is it to send text messages regarding a clear violation?

I'll admit I'm at a loss here. Did they have some deal on record for these amounts? Or were they just promised that amount? If the latter, how legally binding is a verbal/text message agreement?

Holy Cross, UNLV, Florida, Miami )(kind of) Georgia, who will #6 be? Does he even have any stats to pimp to possible teams or is it just his word (ha ha ha) that he's good?

Verbal agreements are legally binding, especially if he was dumb enough to text them about it. Depending on the state, of course, but yeah if he promised them money he may well end up paying them what he promised.
