Definitely not his best skit ever... but I'm not sure there's ever been a host who's had as good of a run as he's had on SNL. His shows are some of the best ones they've ever had.

JT is a great SNL host. Probably my favorite next to Peyton Manning - who had the best skit with the United Way bit.

Top SNL hosts...

1. Steve Martin
2. Christopher Walken
3. Alec Baldwin
4. Buck Henry
5. Justin Timberlake

And you can certainly make an argument for John Goodman in place of Justin Timberlake.

Nope.

My personal favorite is Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase in the job interview skit.

Nope.

My personal favorite is Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase in the job interview skit.

Mine has to be "The shooting of Buckwheat". Still one of the funniest skits I've ever seen and ran basically throughout that entire episode of SNL.

There have been so many classic sketches that it is really impossible to name a best one. I like the old Eddie Murphy "White Like Me" one where he dresses up like a white guy for a day. Dave Chappelle took half of his repertoire from that one. I also loved the Chris Farley "Van down by the river" one with Christina Applegate and David Spade. JT does to a great job hosting though. I like it when Fallon comes on and they do the Barry Gibb Talk Show.

The Christopher Walken "Colonel Angus" skit is a good one.

And pretty much anything with Walken in it is great because the guy is so bizarre.

I'm also partial to the Celebrity Jeopardy skits. Turd Ferguson...classic. Eddie Murphy doing Buckwheat is up there too.

The Real Story: What really happened at Ford's Theater with Joe Piscopo as Lincoln.

I loved it when a drunk Lincoln knocked something off of the ledge in his booth onto somebody down below and yelled out "Send me your cleaning bill! To my Gettysburg address!"

Not even close.

More cowbell, Schmitts Gay, Matt Foley, Harry Caray, Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood, Buckwheat, Chippendales, Celebrity Jeopardy, Eddie Murphy as the white guy, synchronized swimming, etc.

Schweddy Balls

Debbie Downer, Mr. No Depth Perception, Consumer Probe with Dan Akroyd selling bag of glass, Chippendale Audition with Farley and Swayze.

Currently, they need to do a Weekend Update where Drunk Uncle and Stefan meet each other.

For some reason I really like the Californians.

/see ya in three months when something else as important as SNL skits shows up.
//OP is ridiculous. It's not even the best _____-ville skit.

I actually thought even Omeletteville and Homelessville were better.

Timberlake does do a good job - and when he teams with Fallon, it's funny stuff.

I started watching in '77 during what I think were the glory years w/ Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, Garrett Morris, Chevy Chase, Jane "You Ignorant Slut'' Curtain, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray etc. They did a regular skit "The Bumblebees" that was hilarious. One that I remember had Belushi accusing another bee of "playing with his stinger and buzzing off" To me today's are nowhere near as funny as the original "Not Ready for Prime Time Players" cast

You are correct. Remember circumcising the baby in the back of the Lincoln?

Garrett Morris was the lemo driver and his expressions were priceless. How about Coneheads? And Conheads on Jeperdy? Two Wild and Crazy Guys chasing young American Foxes!

I agree with the '70s episodes. Bill Murray in the Lord and Lady douchebag skit is one of the best ever. Hard to compete with the original cast.

I would also give a vote to Farley as the motivational speaker and JT and Samberg for the junk in a box sketch.

"Dick in a box" made me laugh more than anything I've ever seen on SNL. There have been other great skits and songs (I've been watching on and off since it first aired), but as a single skit/song, I don't think it gets any better.

There were some when Gerald Ford was president

where he was always falling down (and he was wont to do that, for those not around back then). Chevy Chase did him in one of the debates and he was continually getting tangled up in something and wound up on the floor with the podium under him. Hilarious.

Top 3 of all time...

Tie for #1 (1a) John Belushi's Samurai Delicatessen. (1b) Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin. (2) Dana Carvey's The Church Lady. (3) Any skit with Bill Murray in it.

Dana Carvey playing John McLaughlin from the McLaughlin group. WRONG!!!!

Then Phil Hartman playing Frank Sanatra on the "Sanatra Group" with Sting in the skit playing Billy Idol. " I got chunks of guys in my stool bigger than you."
