Funny how Spread offense is a "gimmick" until power teams like UGA get behind...
...then their *** will run a hurry-up, up-tempo offense and score in like 2 minutes. Whereas, when they try to run their normal power offense with Gurley, they can't do ****. It is clear, the hurry-up, up tempo offense works for college football wins because it puts pressure on the defense to make substitutions, adjustments quicker then the normally would with a huddle-team.
Teams like Alabama, UGA, LSU and MSU's coaching staffs refuse the run hurry-up, up-tempo offenses because they think they have the better athletes who can pound. Of course, which team out of the previous listing does not belong in the power team category and who should be running a faster spread due to the lack of athletes and 5 star recruits. Sadly, our Mullen-led coaching staff thinks they can win with they call a Spread but everyone else the 17ing stadium calls it "up the middle with Perkins and a cloud of dust Croom/Mullen offense."
