"Jesus was a loser. He got crucified. I like Saviors that don't get crucified."

I don't know, I got a chuckle out of it, maybe it's just me.

And you find that funny? More weird than I gave you credit.

That is hilarious! And I know the quote it is mocking.

Yes, maybe I should have made it clear but that quote isn't out of the blue but rather refers to Trump's remark about McCain when he said something like, "McCain got captured, I prefer war heroes that don't get captured." Without knowing that the quote would seem pretty random and pointless.

I guess we do have different perceptions as to what is funny.

I never thought the element of bein captured added anything to his heroic status. Until an issue is made to the contrary, I thought/think everyone who served during periods of conflict as being a hero. What is not heroic when one wears the uniform and fights for American principles? They are exposing their lives for the country. I fail to see the funny and hilarity part of that service.

Bet you laughed your collective asses of when you read about those who landed on Normady. I think all of their actions deserve remembrance with sobering thoughts.

I think you got it backwards It's Trump, not me, that is denigrating the hero status of people that get captured in war.

Then the line about Jesus applies the same logic Trump did about soldiers and it sounds ridiculous, which is why I found it funny. Humor tastes vary though.

Obviously you took the words of Trump differently from me. As I watched the original comment, I thought Trump was thinking similar to me - THE CAPTURED PART DID NOT MAKE HIM A HERO. HIS SERVICE ALONE WAS ENOUGH TO BE A HERO.

I was always offended by those who suggested one had to be captured to be a hero. Being from a small community in the southern part of WV, I knew three people who were captured during Korea and lived to make it home. They were treated special, but thought no more of than their brothers who served at that time of WWII(damned near ever able bodied man in the valley). They were all heroes, but none expected special treatment.

One of my dads cousins was captured by the Japanese in WWII and he was sent to one of their prison camps where they damn near starved him to death. I never heard him mention anything about it. The only way I even know it happened was from people talking about it after he went home after some of his many visits to my Grand-dads house. To me and our family, our cousin Frank was a true hero, a quiet one who never expected special treatment because of his service and the time he served while in a prison camp - as opposed to one who suffered through a similar past and used that experience for sympathy and lifetime of personal gain.....

Spending 5 freaking years in a POW camp after being shot down and ejecting without breaking down and giving the enemy anything makes you a hero and makes you stand way out from your other peers in the military at the time. And what was funny was the sarcasm using Jesus to point out the stupid and horrible slander that Trump put on Hero McCain. Not surprised you missed it..

The real comedy here is watching libtards put hero status on McCain after the way they treated him when he ran against Hope and Change. Hypocrites.

I could not agree more with what Dave said. McCain wasn't a hero to the DemoRats when he was the challenger........now all of sudden he's their hero.

I had a cousin who enlisted at 16 and immediately after basic sent to Korea. In Battle of Chosen Reservoir and after 18 days of fighting in close quarters in temps at -35 was POW and marched 100 miles to a camp. Upon returning home, we fished, drank beer, made and drank home brew and just generally ran around.

I learned of his difficulties in war in his obituary last year. He never said a word about his trip to Korea. He even reenlisted after being out a year or two. Never used his action to garner a benefit. He was always a hero and friend, and never knew of his capture. They were amazing men.

Idiots, what gave McCain the hero status? Was it his service, which I think makes him a hero, or did he have to get captured to become a hero in your demented mind? I certainly didn't think being captured qualified him to be president of US. Therefore, I voted for Rudy in primary. Voted for McCain in general. I did not oppose his military service, but thought his political history was less than stellar. He was definitely better than his opposition.

Yup......a lot of people sacrificed for our country. The ones who sacrificed the most never talked about it. The ones who bragged about how tough they had it and tried to use it for personal gain or political favor sort to diminish what they suffered through. It's the quiet ones, those are the real heroes.

It goes along with the train of thought... "I voted for Obama because of Palin."
