There is some concern that Rumph may be headed to UGA, they are putting the heat

on him to commit now. This comes from the lake for what it is worth.

would be a big blow to lose him given the huge loss in experience we will have..

wouldn't surprise me at all. Looks like Rumph is headed that way.

in our receiving corps next year. Wouldn't surprise me though because of him not being willing to pull the trigger earlier for us and the fact that we have been very weak closing late on recruits ever since Mullen has been here. Usually our best recruits over the Mullen years have been those that commit early in the process.

Vandy has a freshman from Clarksdale that I believe used to live in Ittawamba and is related to Shumpert. I'm just assuming that's where some of their interest in Shumpert originated.

I'm not so sure......

....reports I've heard on Rumph is that he's not all that dynamic and drops alot of balls. Let's be real, he's a 4* receiver, will probably come in and contribute, but a 5* Corderelle Patterson he is not.

I'm all about using JUCOs to build talent. But I want it to be good talent. Would love to have Rumph, but not a killer either way. We've got plenty of WRs in the fold, and with our OL and QB, they'll be productive.

Point is we need more talented older bodies in the receiving corps for next year after losing Clark, Smith, Bumphis and Heavens. Not saying Rumph would be all world but he would be available for spring practice and if Georgia wants him bad its hard for me to believe he would be a non-factor in our receiving corps next year.

Hate to hear that about Rumph. We really need a guy that can step in and provide some immediate experience. Plus, his size is something we have needed for a while in a WR that can actually get on the field. If we lose him, we will need Morrow to step the 17 up. I still can't believe we haven't tried to implement him more into the offense against the cupcakes, or in garbage time when Bama and A&M were throttling us. Mullen knows we need him next year, but it looks like he will still be a freshman when it comes to experience. I expected more from Morrow, and more attempts by the coaches to get him some work. Maybe that's just me though.

It's definitely just you, and a small other vocal minority.

I think it was the consensus when we signed him that he was a very talented WR in the 2011 class, but very raw. It was known that Singleton, Moncrief and Brassell were more SEC ready than Morrow, out of those hotshot receivers in that class. Actually it was just the first 3 who were the stars, Morrow came on after and got his 4th star after Rosebowl worked his magic. No reason to expect him to explode onto the SEC scene as a freshman. Typical of young, talented but raw players like he and Tubby, they are tearing it up in practice but haven't yet become gamers. Both have shown flashes.

Not sure where our fans get these ridiculous expectations. Yes, it's a little human nature to want to see someone step up especially when idiot journalists portray them as practice warriors. Maybe it's just the lack of football knowledge. We do have 4 Sr. WRs after all. One of THEM doesn't even start and is fighting for PT, much less freshmen and sophomores.

Hold up hot shot...Don't call me out without getting my facts straight. Your little Mr. "I know all things MSU" act is getting old, especially if you're twisting my words. I didn't say I "expected him to explode onto the SEC scene as a Freshman". Quite the opposite actually. I didn't think we would see bigger things out of him until next year. BUT what I DID think was that "our coaches would try to get him some experience". We haven't. I never thought with our Senior WR's that he would be getting tons of looks during big game situations, but he should be getting a little more playing time in blowout wins and losses than he has been getting, in my opinion. So don't make it out like I'm unreasonable with my expectations. You are so quick to try and slam your fist on the table like you know a bunch of ****, but you fail to read the posts you're critiquing. Now, carry on.

ETA: And by the way, Brassell and Moncrief were doing much bigger things as True Freshmen than Morrow will be doing as a redshirt soph next year. Nobody expected him to be the caliber of those guys, but if you think I'm in the minority on thinking he would get more playing time by now, you would be wrong. In fact, check back at how many people on this board projected him to be a "breakout player" this season. I was not one of those, by the way.
