Other than Varnado, we are in trouble. I went to the game, and this small line up turns the ball over way too many times. I worry we will struggle in conference play.

McNeese State choked down the stretch after coming back on lsu in Baton Rouge. McNeese had a chance to tie late but the pg went Gary Ervin and got his shot rejected when a dish to a big man would have tied it up. Then, down by 3, McNeese player rebounded his own player's foul shot and put it back up instead of attempting a trey.

on both ends.

It looks like every trip down court, the offense is designed to go through JV, (a la Mario Austin, Lawrence Roberts, and Charles Rhodes...) Problem is, Jarvis is not at that level offensively. I'm not sure he ever will be. It's not his fault, he just still looks like he weighs about a buck-fifty and consistently gets pushed out of position. No other big man means we're back to the basic 4 guards (Bost, Randy, Ravern, and Turner started) tossing it back and forth until someone hoists a 3.

Defensively, since we are obviously going with a small, quick lineup these days, Jarvis gets NO help in the paint on that end of the court. He goes for a block on basically every opponent's shot, and there is no one crashing the boards. Consequently, rebounding sucks.

I'm hoping Osby steps up quickly. He looks the part offensively, and hits the boards hard. He will need to stop getting 4 fouls in his first 5 minutes of play.

Elgin Bailey -- I guess he's still hurt? He dressed out but didn't see the court.
Brian Johnson -- he played a few minutes, contributed a little. He did get a tough rebound, but it was quickly negated by the obligatory traveling call the next time he touched the ball.
Kodi Augustus -- Is he officially in Stansbury's doghouse?
