Does yall showing revenue matching expense translate to your participation in Cotton Bowl? IPF spending?

Knowing how much he pinches pennies when it comes to the smallest stuff, and we cleared $16M?

If true, that's BS. I've heard plenty of stories about things he's done to cut expenses that serve little purpose but to upset the head coach and what he's trying to do.

Our IPF for football was paid off years ago. One of the few things Boone did right. Got it built super nice and on the cheap...and had it paid off pretty quickly

...I hope they are not including something. I know our athletic budget is between $30 and $40 million. Football has to be the majority of that. No way we only make $14 million off of football and $20 off of everything else. Something's not right.

We are probably slightly behind Ole Miss in revenue.

I'm pretty sure different schools have different criteria about what goes into which pot when they're reporting revenue and expense numbers.</p>

some accounting shennanigans going on with most of those figures. There is all sorts of ways they could label expenses and profits and factor the Bulldog Club funds in.

I refuse to believe that MSU was only clearing 4 million and paying for all the other non revenue sports and donating to the University (I think I read once that they give money to the academic side).

Even if it's cash-basis, revenues less expenses doesn't tell you anything about the state of an entity. If they actually detailed revenue and expense by type we might get a little more from this.

The stadia are comparable size, tickets are relatively similar, luxury box count is not far off. There is only so many ways to generate revenue for the program outside of those. Not that any of this matters.

If you count the TV money from ESPN as Football revenue only and not under the total Athletics umbrella there could be the difference. Regardless we're making money.

Ole Miss is 9th in Profit but is 6th in Cost as a Percentage of
Revenue. What's surprising is how much money Bama is spending but not
generating more revenues. It could have something to do with their
recent expansion though.

And some of you guys have said the numbers are a bit fuzzy. I would bet you are right. This can't be apples to apples. Just looking at the Vandy numbers tells you they are playing with the numbers a bit. I can't believe they would break exactly even.

You sold quite a few tickets on the cheap for the sake of putting asses in the seats. We sold more tickets this season also. That could cause a pretty good difference. Not enough to justify the whole difference, but its part of the equation. You are also assuming the cost for the luxury boxes are the same.

You've got me confused now with your **.

Because this doesn't look like sarcasm.

Either way...I believe you guys have 50 sky box suites and we have 60. Not sure on how many tickets that translates to.

Suites alone generate about $1.4 million for MSU & $1.65 million for OM.

By her count, we have 52 suites in the south and west sides. If you look in the picture below, there are at least 8-10 on the east side.

Maybe the problem is semantics...luxury, premium, skybox, club level, etc.

There are 28 in the end zone. Where are the other 32?

Im not saying they aren't there. Its just puzzling. I've been in the stadium and never noticed 32 other boxes.

then has to fund all the non revenue sports. its not like boone gets to keep it. and since UGA made 3+ times what we did, you can sort of see why boone has to watch his pennies. and i'm not a boone fan especially but 16 mill in the sec does not give him a lot of extra cash to throw around.

that profit flies the mens and women's golf team to tournaments, it buys the softball team bats, and it houses the baseball team every weekend in SEC play. Interesting how large of a drain baseball in on almost all college athletic budgets. Team travels constantly, has to be housed and feed multiple times every week, etc..

I've always heard that MSU doesn't include coaching salary numbers in any sport, because they are supplemented by the Bulldog Foundation. I know she listed salaries under expenses, but I have to wonder.

For football only, the figure is $28,409,774 in revenue. This was given by John Hartwell who manages funds in the UMAA Foundation. I don't know where Forbes magazine got its figure.

The West Side boxes are deceptive. Primarily because of how old they are. They are stacked on top of each other. I haven't been over there in some time, but I know there are two levels and think there are 20-22 skyboxes on the top level including the Chancellor's box. Only the open area in the middle is not box seats on the top floor, as it is reserved for cameras. From about the 40 yard line to the 40 yard line is the actual pressbox, but there are at least 10-12 boxes on the bottom floor.

Edited because picture can not be linked.
