It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Gabe wrestle for the hawks again at some point. He’s a great kid, just needs to get a few things sorted properly.Surely that guy would know.
Only if he had an injury and received a medical year.So he is dismissed from the team. Can he still attend Iowa University without being involved with the team and still have his 3 remaining years if he would return to wrestling next year?

First off, “Iowa University”? Seriously?
Anyway the answer is no. He already redshirted and his click is ticking.
This account doesn’t know crap. That said, I’m not saying they are wrong.
Thanks Spooner. I was just asking because given AJ was dismissed and then returned to college with all his eligibility which ultimately could have included OSU if they were to have accepted him. What would the difference be with Gabe?First off, “Iowa University”? Seriously?

Ferrari had redshirts to use (normal and Olympic). Thanks Spooner. I was just asking because given AJ was dismissed and then returned to college with all his eligibility which ultimately could have included OSU if they were to have accepted him. What would the difference be with Gabe?
Wasnt AJ helped out by the covid rule and I think one of those years he could of technically use an Olympic redshirt could be wrong. My bad didnt see js replay above mine dont have the best service at work lolThanks Spooner. I do wonder if Gabe could get a medical year for mental health issues. Given the reported hospitalization, I would think he'd have the required medical backing.
From the outside in, it seems like he could use some time away from the pressures of competition. Sit out this year, apply for the medical, and come back next year ready to go.
It was the reason he missed the soldier salute final against angelo. He didn’t return with all his eligibility. He burned through allotted redshirts and a Covid year.
I probably just missed it but this is the first I’m reading about a hospitalization.
Is this true? Why the heck was he back on the mat a short time later if his issues were this severe? It was the reason he missed the soldier salute final against angelo.
Very true.Is this true? Why the heck was he back on the mat a short time later if his issues were this severe?
I was wondering the same thing but didnt they use the words suspended indefinitely with montells case?Could this be a Montell Marion dismissal?
That’s what I’m hoping.Could this be a Montell Marion dismissal?
Could...but maybe shouldn't.Very true.
Decision between himself and the health care professionals that he could compete.
Could...but maybe shouldn't.

Gabe talked about this openly in an interview he had a few months ago on a podcast. He didn’t return with all his eligibility. He burned through allotted redshirts and a Covid year.

He will be a Hawkeye for his entire collegiate career and never once intended on going anywhere. The staff should be commended and so should Gabe when he sees this through.Well, I'm now even more invested in pulling for Gabe's success and support him wherever and whatever he goes for.
Absolutely love hearing this!He will be a Hawkeye for his entire collegiate career and never once intended on going anywhere. The staff should be commended and so should Gabe when he sees this through.
We are all dealing with something.
He certainly does not owe any of us an explanation, but it is nice to hear that his mindset has turned around. I will be pulling for him.
How is he still practicing with the team if his locker was cleaned out and he was dismissed??He was at practice the other day if it means anything!
It was?How is he still practicing with the team if his locker was cleaned out and he was dismissed??
I didn’t know you need a locker to practice. That’s so weird because I often carry my workout clothes in a bag. I am certain he has been practicing with the team, how certain are you that his locker was cleaned out? Go sharp shoot a different post. How is he still practicing with the team if his locker was cleaned out and he was dismissed??

Being welcomed to work out in the room is a step towards being back on the wrestling team.Official practices are months away. Being welcomed to work out in the room and being on the wrestling team are two different things.
AJ wasn't dismissed from the team. he was never a student at Iowa. Thanks Spooner. I was just asking because given AJ was dismissed and then returned to college with all his eligibility which ultimately could have included OSU if they were to have accepted him. What would the difference be with Gabe?
