How did it turn out?

Ended up with about $800 total across multiple contests, $400 in the millionaire maker - moved up from 3200/400751 to finish at 583/400751. Got passed over by a ton of people with the Rodgers/Cobb stack, so never sniffed the big money. Won 4 $20 tickets for the Millionaire Maker from other 25 cent contests, so not a bad day.

It was a crazy high scoring week - I finished with 252.3 points, and the winner was 301.00. The Week 2 Millionaire Maker was won with a score of 246.18...

Solid. Still haven't pulled the trigger...just seems shady with everything I'm reading about false advertising -- not to mention the computer/analytics aspect that seems to rule on those sites.

Imagine I'll do a wussy league at some point, but can't ever see myself pumping actual money into it. Rather just get my *** kicked in College Football again on WagerCat. :uzi::mad:

My first game was a $10 50/50 and I came in first. I think there is money to be won but not the stuff the commercials speak of.

No matter what the number geeks come up with there is still some things the geeks don't get but they will average out ok. What I'm more concerned about is the groups of people that share funds and go into 30-40 games a day because it didn't take my dumbass 10 minutes to thing up a scheme like that at 1 fantasy football get together. I'm sure the guru's are teamed up.

I have already quit actual gambol.......f'n nonsense unless I'm ahead and just throwing money at games how I want. When I'm down I try to bet "smart" which never works ever.

They legitimately give out the money you see in the ads - someone does win the million every week - but the odds of winning are up there with the lottery. The payout scales down pretty hard too. 83,000 of the 400751 slots pay out something, but only the top 4000 get $100 or more, and 33,000 of them just get their entry fee plus $10 - $30. Where they screw you is in the "matching your deposit" - you would have to play $1000 worth of tournaments or something along those lines to get a $40 deposit matched...

The "known" gurus mostly play solo, but they play huge numbers of lineups, so that part is right (and I'm sure people pool as well). The big boys play 50+ lineups in the big tournaments, sometimes 200+. It wasn't unusual over the summer to see the same guy win six or more of the top ten payout positions in a tournament and take home $200,000+. They also recently approved the use of scripts to make lineups (which the big guys were already doing - they just amended the TOS to openly allow them in order to keep their business), so you have people entering hundreds of lineups with very slight differences in the roster all at once, and able to make tweaks in seconds if injury reports come out, etc.

One of the bigger fish (maybe the biggest) - Maxdalury - plays hundreds of lineups in all the tournaments and makes a pretty solid living at it. In this last Millionaire Maker, just glancing at the final standings, he came in at 184, 189, 204, 249, 264, 351, and 399th places (that's all I looked at - I'm sure he had dozens more) for a win total of $7500 on $140 worth of entries.

There are plenty of tales about his exploits out there - this one was the most recent:

Going to hit BAMA easily, so I rolled a 2nd half 100 parlay with BAMA +3 and IU +12.5

Not sure I like either so a good chance it could happen I suppose

Hit the cash window yesterday on both plays. Tennessee +3 and Bama -9 (2H)

Like the Bengals today -3.

Also have a variety of $5 parlays. I am such a sucker for those things especially putting together enough ML's to get even money parlays.

I suck! Pushed 2, and should have pushed a 3rd but due to rules ATL didn't kick their last extra point, and NO got blasted!

F the NFL, something I already knew yet somehow had to find out again!

2-2 yesterday on a couple of 3-team Sweethearts -- haven't had a winning CFB day since week 1, so I played NFL.

Pats +1.5
Bronc +4.5
Giants +2.5

ATL +3
Pack +1
Cincy +7

Felt good to win, but all that means really is that now I'll be losing money on Sundays as well pretty soon. :(

...looking forward to basketball gambol to get my account back in shape, ugh.

Small play on the $0.20 pic-5 at Woodbine Harness; races 1-5.

1, 4, 6 / 3, 4 / 2, 5 / 5, 6, 8 / 3, 4, 5 = $21.60....

Regardless, there's a Hi-5 wager in the get out(12th race) where you have to pick the first 5 finishers in order... The carryover is $541,192.13, and there might be a play there too...

To confirm my insanity: Jada Queen won the first race tonight at Rosecroft Harness and paid $745.40 to win.

The Win Pool had $1376 in it and only $3 was bet on her to win.

Paid $173.20 to place...

$18.20 to show.........:pimp:

Anyway...Place 5 play:

1, 4, 10 / 1, 4, 10 / 1, 4, 9, 10 / 1, 4, 8, 9, 10 / 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 = $24.00

All I can do is laugh at sports and GAMBOL.

Had LSU, UGA and Michigan ML Parlay. $200/$240.

I realize the other games were close and it could have gone either way but to lose on a play like that.[sick]

WagerCat took away the ML Parlay, which was my go-to. No clue why, but it's BS.

My season needs a swing. Currently down $377 on the football year. Just can't get any positive traction, mostly because of ish like what happened in the Michigan game.

Did a ridiculous 10 team teaser yesterday. $50 to win $405. Got 9/10 right, missed on Arizona. GD Steelers always ruin everything.

WTF did you do to only get 8/1 odds on a 10 teamed? Seriously that's retarded! You honestly had a better shot at betting 50 on every game and coming out ahead regardless of juice than to profit off that parlay.

I mean, you literally had to have like a 2 TD tease on that.

It was a 10 team, +9 teaser. I had been having a good year, especially on draft kings, and went for it.

9 pt teaser at 8/1 still seems like you got the wrong end of the deal. I get a 3 team 10 pt teaser for almost even money so adding 6 teams SEEMS like it would get better odds for you.

Just seems odd I guess.

Also, Cinci is still the only team perfect vs the spread(Seattle was a push) seems like a great time to go all in against them.

Parlays and what not. Silliness.

I can pick two NFL games a week and prolly win at a 60 percent rate.

Never tried it but I'll post my two picks here each Thursday and we can see how I do...

Honest question, will you be betting them to or just picking and not betting?

My fantasy football league has a side pot where we pick all the games vs the spread and at the end of the season whoever picks the most wins it. I typically hit 10 of 14-16(depends on byes) a week on that but I swear the games I actually bet money on are damn near guaranteed loses!

Wuss.

That said, I think most any fan would be better off if they just picked their 2 favorite games of the week...unfortunately, for most GAMBOLers, that's impossible to do -- and not much fun.

Way more fun to bet everything you see and lose all sorts of money imo. :sunglasses:

My agent showed me a parlay a guy cashed this weekend. 8 team NFL parlay. He bought down a few lines to not get the true value of 8 team parlays, but still that's bonkers. Apparently the second one he has hit in the last year for over $20K.

$300 to win $20,000

Agent can't be happy. Geez.

I assume something like that would ruin our agent's entire year, krazykats? Or maybe I'm underestimating the action these guys get. Always assumed it was more of a part-time/for fun gig on the side for some extry cash for a majority of those types -- since all the ones I know also have real jobs.

Apparently the site I go through is raking in some pretty serious cash. Like hundreds of thousands per year so I while the 20K probably stings, I know my agent has showed me people that are down 10-12K in their accounts. What probably sucks is trying to collect all this money from people.

It does suck in situations like that where my agent was set to make about $2,000 on commission but then a dude spikes a 20K parlay nullifying it entire cut.

I was close to getting the "agent" deal. I referred about 8 people to the guy I go through now. I just didn't want to deal with the headache of collecting/paying out.

Right on. Okay, let's make it interesting.

100 bucks. I'll pick 2 games a week. If I can hit at 60 percent the rest of the regular season, I win.

Chester's picks this week:

Carolina -3.0

Atlanta -3.5

20K parlay could happen, I'd quit personally but everyone I know would be good to go. This year especially as Vegas has absolutely raked!

I've only seen/heard of 1 guy being told no thanks in my 15 hrs of off/on gambol. Never forget it as he hit in 07 all those New England lines when Vegas just could t make the spread enough, he'll 1 game was a -21 in the NFL. But he was all in and crushing other stuff too. Was honestly sick to witness, and when he was told he couldn't bet anymore it was very eye opening at the time.
