I really don't care who it is. Sick of this "Everything is fine" after beatdowns.
Pope still has a chance to turn things around sure, but it isn't looking good AT ALL.
And I'm personally done with the man until he proves me wrong. And I'll be here win or lose.
It maybe on radio but I will cheer and not apologize for not accepting mediocrity. Again, if that makes me a bad fan- I really don't care.
I've been cognizant watching UK basketball for 35+ years. No one gets to tell me to lower my standards for this organization. And I'm not even insane. I don't expect us to win every game by 20 and win the title every year. But this? This aint it.
He wasn't my choice fella. But he is our coach, and he will be till after year 3. So why make the board this toxic?

Pope is going to win more games. He’s a career 24-12 coach. He’s going to win some games here that are unexpected wins.

I remember the first pracfice report that came out 2 summars ago under pope and the first thing that was said was "this team is a lot different from cals teams, theres no pros or stars" WE SHOULDVE KNOWN RIGHT THERE this wouldnt work
Yeah that didn't work for Tubby and his teams were WAAAAAY more competitive.
Maybe it’s my imagination, but, it doesn’t seem like any of our players seem upset when they lose.
I honestly haven't seen him do anything "smart". Takes painfully long to make adjustments, game prep is garbage, has no clue on defense. Biggest misfire to me was propagating this $22M NIL spend and thinking it was a good idea -- huge misfire and set us up for failure from a PR perspective. He clearly lacks any form of executive training.
Said this before, and I'll say it again. I thought he could coach, based off last season. But with the results this year, it seems like the "adjustments" last year were just elite shooters getting hot, and not anything he actually did. He has not done any coaching this year.
Not in a 20 year old it isnt. They just don't care....and its hard to blame them at times.

Same here. I'm going to pull hard for this team and hope they can figure it out, but I'm not going to pump rainbows and blow sunshine after getting housed over and over.
We aren't just losing, we are getting our doors blown off.
This isn't 1989 when we were on probation. We have a 22 million dollar roster and it looks uncoached, unprepared and they aren't giving effort. I could look past a lot of things if everyone involved was trying, but this is really bad. It’s disturbing and I'm tired of saying these things. We said all these same things the last 5 years of Cal and here we are again.
I bought into the Pope hire after his introductory press conference, he said all the right things, but now, I feel like I was correct with my initial thoughts on him as UK's coach. He was never qualified for this job.
Mitch keeps handing these jobs to anyone that raises their hand. He needs to be removed from anymore coaching hires at the very least.
I'll agree with you on this. Pope proved last year that he has some coaching chops. He definitely doesn't suck.
But he's not qualified for this job.
He can blame the players all he wants, but these guys aren't improving and against good teams, we are doing the absolute worst things you can do.
You don't leave shooters to help defend the paint against Bama. You also don't go under screens. Our guys did that all game long. He never adjusted.
Why did Chandler get so many more minutes than Kam? Chandler gave up 3 after 3 after 3. Heck, Kam didn’t play until the 10 minute mark in the 2nd half. Why?
This crap where he doesn't start Lowe, is dumb. There is nothing that makes sense there.
Lastly, Pope obviously doesn't know how to recognize talent. You don't pay the kind of money he paid for these guys. He was extremely careless with the money he was given.
And when the shots didn’t fall last year, we got beat badly. Amari, Butler, Jaxson and Brea covered up a lot of red flags.
I mean, we got smoked by Ohio State.
We got distracted by the comeback wins over duke and Gonzaga and the 3 big SEC wins, but other than that, there were a lot of games where his tricks didn’t work.
He's the one that has to change.
I was not a Tubby fan at all. But I will give Tubby credit. His teams always played hard. They might not have played well. But they didn’t give up. And I never witnessed a Tubby team boo’ed by UK fans.
