If Pope would have kept the rotation tighter and started the right people I believe even with Bamas shooting we’d be winning or down a bucket or two instead of the current score. Chandler can’t start or log significant minutes and JQ needs more minutes. Aberdeen also need less minutes and give his to Williams or JJ. Popes lineups and minute distribution is why we are in this position.

This second half hasn't been bad.

I just don't understand why we don't have this intensity from the get go.
We’re actually winning the second half at this moment, just not by enough to make up the huge halftime deficit.

That’s been a consistently weird feature of the Pope era so far. He’s clearly good at halftime adjustments, but it makes no sense that his first half preparation is apparently so poor that we get in a quick hole almost every good opponent we play.

We only meet once this year and it had to be in Tuscaloosa, it might not have mattered but we can’t shoot much worse and they couldn’t shoot much better than they have today.

It's' like he watched Cal's sub patterns and went:

Here we go baby. Pope’s gonna win this game and we’ll all be fools! Until it happens again and again and again and….

A damaged Lowe is still a pretty darn good PG. A healthy Lowe would have been very good. If Pope had found a couple of shooters to go with him UK might have been pretty good.

For the folks bashing JQ you must have allowed your expectations to get too high .

We've had some crazy swings in 3 points shooting from half to half.

The Gonzaga game last year was like that.

The UL game this year and this one. Both UL and Bama were on pace for about 20 or more 3's and went on cold streaks. We start making some runs when their shooting cools down.

Pope's defense relies almost entirely on forcing missed shots. When the opponent gets hot, we have no way to end possessions since we don't force many turnovers. So when they are hot and get offensive boards, like today in the first half, we get gashed.
