A its been a long off season, but tell me why waiting for the first game of the year (after a long off season) always feels like waking up on Christmas morning as a kid and seeing that you'd still have to wait for Santa to come... Ugh I just want the game to start already!

I don't remember the last time I was this geeked up for a game. It feels good to not have every potential win be bittersweet.

If i had it my way, i would of slept and woke up right at 2pm. But nooooo, soon as my eyes opened, i start visualizing the game today and start getting pumped, so then im like, ok might as well get up and do ever house work that needs or dont need done to kill time!
And watch them lose. They're going up against a pretty good quarterback and a decent team in that . Illinois State with the upset.....which, not sure that'd be an upset.
In my opinion it feels like a must win because we have a great coach now there are some nah sayers and with a win against a good team like BYU in the season opener could show us all what we really have in this coaching staff. With a loss, honestly its going to leave a lot of people still guessing the hire, even though BYU is a good team, with a great QB and the first game of the season. A win against a good BYU team just simply quiets a lot of people.
Because there's people waiting for Riley to lose, the same ones justifying pelini articles still.
You're absolutely right that a win will quiet a lot of people, right up until the first loss. A win would be huge, but I don't think it's a must win... Even guys like Herbstriet said he really loves the hire but is picking BYU anyway. If we lose it just takes a little longer to climb the mountain.
Many Nebraska fans I talk to have no idea how good BYU is, so to them it's a must win because they think it's southern miss west.
No matter how much we want to win, it still has to happen. There's a little voice in everyone's head, can we finally be good again. 7ish point favorites. Not a super close matchup. A win would indicate we are on the right path beating the teams we "should" beat.
That is a close matchup, of course Nebraska should be better, but you never know what you'll see in a coaches first game.
