Literally reduced to OU/Mizzou, USC/Oregon, and GT/Pitt for playoff implication games. Maybe an upset will happen, I could see maybe Kentucky beating Vandy.

I know I should never bltch about a college football Saturday, but in this day and age of super conferences it's hard to see how days like this still go down.

9 game schedule should help, now that I'm over MSU football ever competing. Because it definitely hurts us specifically.

Guess we got basketball Thursday and Friday, if you have Peacock.

2nd week of the season and next to last week are always like this. 9 game schedule might help a little, but probably not much.

I think another factor is the lack of meaning in the bowls. We certainly have more national implications, but overall at this point no one truly cares unless you're headed for the playoff, outside of just sheer pride. I mean yeah we want to beat Ole Miss but no one nationally would watch that if Ole Miss wasn't in playoff contention.

And I'm not saying people won't watch the bowls, again, I get that all college football is good, but the outcomes are utterly meaningless (even for the following year) and that sucks.

I think it's more that everyone wants a bye or a cupcake the week before their big year-end rivalry game. And after all the big games Labor Day weekend, everyone wants a cupcake the 2nd week.

Some of the better bowl games with 9-3 teams will be decent to watch. I don’t watch the weed Wacker acme cheese grater bowls.

I do think some of them can be springboards into the next season but relies completely on the team/program. For example the 2022 RQ/Outback (whatever the eff it is now). But damnit, that MS grease got the best of Mike.

I think OU has a very strong chance of losing to Mizzou. OU offense is trash, Mizzou has really good D and they tend to take care of the ball, and you have the possible big win hangover in play.

Depends if Pribula can play, Zollers can’t pass and OU defense is stout enough to limit the Missouri run game. OU offense is heavily dependent on Mateer who is really good and just now getting healthy. I don’t think OU will let this one get away with playoff spot on the line.

OU had no business beating Bama. The turnovers flipped that game and they stole a win.

This is a bucklist game for me. I really want to attend at each location. The Brawl of the Wild!
My BIL graduated from the U MT and got me started following the FCS schools. I love the playoffs, some really good action in those games. The Montana schools, South Dakota schools and North Dakota schools all just reload most every year and they have some rabid fans!

You must not watch the games, Mateer is the OU offense
Yeah, and that offense isn’t good. 42nd of 70 P4 teams (including ND) in scoring offense….which includes a few defensive TD’s.

51st of 70 in yards per game.

Not on Mateer, when healthy he is a really good player.

John Mateer ranked
second in the nation in total offense with 351.3 yards per game during the early part of the 2025 season, according to Yahoo Sports and CBS Sports. While his statistics fluctuated after a hand injury and return, he was a leading player in this category for a significant portion of the year.

I used to work at JMU when they were FCS. The playoffs were a ton of fun. I went when they played NDSU in the title and lost by 8 by throwing a pick on the final play at the 3 yard line. It was a brutal loss but the NDSU fans were buying us beer after the game. Super nice folks.

Sounds we should start plucking their players
