Disappointing. Of course they are a helluva club but we had our chances and

again can't get clutch hits. Pollo pitched well but his walks in that third were his undoing. If we can't hit Ziomet, good luck with Bede.

Porter pinch hit for Amarati and Slaughter is still injured. I wonder who would have caught the bottom of the 9th inning.

I don't have a problem with putting Frost in at the end. Just stinks that he didn't come through.

We didn't play poorly, but we need Graveman to be Superman if we want to beat Beede. Because he's Superman every outing. Maybe the best pitcher in the country.

Sam Frost has no business swinging at the first pitch in any situation...that's what pissed me off. I don't have a problem with him pinch hitting since he's had some success lately....but damn, he's got to work the count in this situation. He is NOT clutch.

With Frazier on deck, frost should definitely be taking.

I'm torn on that. Jim said he got a good cut at it, but it just went right at the infielder. If you work the count, maybe you get a walk, but maybe you get right back to your pitch. The pitcher was probably trying to get ahead and gave him a juicy ball to swing at. It's hard to be critical, except he hit into a double play.

I think you've gotta be patient there. Pitcher just walked a guy and our 2nd best hitter on deck. Hate to lose game with winning runs on base and Frazier next up. Anything but dp

I'm on the side that Sam should have been working the count. You are right, a pitcher is definitely going to be going after him with that situation, but Sam should have been doing nothing but guarding the plate. Perhaps the call was to swing at a pitch he thought he could handle and get out of the infield. However, the reason I feel the way I do is that Sam is just not a guy that's going to consistently get the ball out, and with the bases loaded and one out, I think you have to be patient and make the guy pitch to you. It's the safest call.
