Penalties were a big yuck but otherwise it was fine.

The game is 4 quarters. We won the first two quarters and then dominated the last two quarters.
That adds up to an overall very good performance.

Penalties. O line was getting handled. Hopefully we can find two more wins to get bowl eligible. Arkansas seems snakebite. So that MIGHT be a possibility. Florida is a shitshow. Both on the road. 
Ultimately when you don’t feel great about only beating an FBS opponent by 28… you’re not in terrible shape.
Very strange game. Stats and final score look like a routine blowout. But that first half was pretty petty ugly. Second half we just did what an SEC team is supposed to do vs a MAC team.
We’re a hell of a lot better than we were last year, but I’m. It convinced were good enough to more than two wins from here on out.

I think that's a function of the way NI plays. They want to make the game ugly and they're good at getting that done. See ND game last year.
Just the fact that they had that long streak of holding teams below 30 points says a lot about their mindset. Play tough, smart D and shorten the game on O.
We were just too much better in the end.
I'd be very happy if we found two more wins. We've almost certainly got the toughest final 8 game schedule in the country.
It'd be nice if the board would remember that as we start losing games, but that's way too much to hope for.
My thing with these kind of games is that nobody will remember much about it a week from now, which is kinda what you hope for.
Anybody remember the 2022 Bowling Green game? What about 2018 Louisiana Tech? Or 2017 BYU?

This week is huge. These guys have it. Fight like you mean it. Just dont lose poise.
To me, this was a good win. It's a game that I've seen MSU lose plenty of times in the past. A team you are supposed to beat shocks you in the 1st quarter and a lot of teams tense up and lose. NIU is a tough team that doesn't really make mistakes. They are well coached and run a more traditional offense. The fact that we had 292 yds rushing impresses me. The fact that we were able to overcome 103 yds in penalties and still put up 38 points on a team that rarely gives up many points is even more impressive.
There'll be alot of good eval film from this game. Fortutious that we had the huskies the week before the vols.
