They are GIVING him wide open 15 footers, but he won’t take them. Dribbles into a crowd and then takes contested shot or throws it away.
Atleast we didn’t start slow and dig a hole. If we can rebound better and play post defense we will be fine. We are improving albeit not as quickly as one would like. Let’s come out blazing second half and separate a big lead!

If there is another team in D1 basketball that misses more layups that us I would love to see it.
If we made even 50% of our shots within a foot of the rim, we would be.
Pope just playing him enough to try to get him back next year. I think he needs Garrisons minutes and we would be far better off.
We need to stop their runouts off misses. And we need someone to attack the offensive glass to make them pay for that.
Because of offensive rebounds(by Texas). Too much helping and too little boxing out.

The NCAA should just say, “go ahead and play him but every game he plays in will be forfeited and your team will get a 3 year post season ban. But feel free to play him. Your call.”
The NCAA runs the tournament. It would be fun watching a judge tell them who they can invite to their own invitational.
I think I read that Oweh shoots something like 62% on half-court layups. That could be wrong, but it seems like I saw that stat reported recently.
This is the best we have looked in conference play in the first half and it’s only tied .

Someone please explain why the NCAA is the only association that isn't allowed to make their own rules. Every state has a high school association that makes rules. Are courts going to allow 21 year old to go back and play hs football?
This one may boil down to free-throw efficiency down the stretch.
Give up too many inside shots.
That was probably the most consistent first half we have put together in a month but Texas definitely doesn’t look like world beaters. Hopefully we come out with some fire here in the second half.
