Looks to be chilly come Saturday night. Keep those feet warm people. Hated trying to keep my feet warm the most for cold games.

About the time we expect to get help from the weather, it will probably be Nebraska being the one having issues. That’s why we can never have nice things

Gonna be chilly but it’s all good. Memorial Stadium cuddles always keep us warm lol Just landed in ATL, waiting for next flight. Safe travels to everyone from out of state coming into town, as well as all our in-state people driving!
GBR!

The only “factor” that matters Saturday will be OL + DL play! Looking lost and moving slow can’t happen!

The mere fact that many are hoping for help from the weather is another sign that Rhule shouldn’t have gotten an extension yet….
I hope the fans are noisy and play a part in the game, thus helping Nebraska... Is that a sign that Rhule shouldn't have got an extension?
I hope USC makes some mistakes, like turnovers and penalties... Is that a sign that Rhule shouldn't have got an extension?

It's okay that you didn't want Rhule to have an extension. Don't look for "signs" where there are none.

It's almost like I just said keep those feet warm. From personal experience Ive hated having cold feet at games
But you women turn it into something else. Cool. Guessing the same bitches that will be bleeding out of their *** in the game thread Saturday.

The weather angle is such a joke... it's hitting the 50s at night in LA. The only thing the Lincoln weather will do is keep the USC players cooled down after running all over the field.

Our only chance. USC will absolutely hate it
They will, there is no way for those kids to practice in cold temps, trust me I live in SoCal and when it dips into the low 50's kids complain. You are going to see a bunch of those SC players huddled around heaters through out the game. This is why, yes it's nice for 4 or 5 star football HS kid to want to play in warm climate schools but once they go pro they have to play mostly in cold climate states in winter, good luck with the transition. Weather is a factor in games and like it or not it will keep this game within reason I have a feeling.

Now if the wind would be howling out of the north I’d say Nebraska has a edge that’s one this Rhule has learned from TO

It’s just turned cold, are Nebraska players even used to it especially ones that are new here? I don’t think it’s that much of an advantage.

Nothing like getting hit hard when it's cold, if you're use to it fine but when you're not it's a different story. Nebraska most likely has been outside practicing in the colder weather getting ready while SC has practiced in high 70 late evening and 90 degree weather during the day here in SoCal all week. I would say this has to be worth something of an advantage for Nebraska, I'm not saying Nebraska will win but I'm not saying I totally buy the blow out that some predict.

One thing I've learned over the years is that weather, crowd, home field, none of it matters if the teams truly aren't evenly matched. You can't play like **** and beat a good team just because of weather or home field.

Orrrrrrr..... that we haven't won a game like this in forever and typically have been blown out.

I'm not talking about beating, I'm talking about all those that see this as a complete blow out that's what I question.

Jeezus, stop. We said the same thing during the Osborne years. You know, the coach we tried to run out of town because he couldn't win the big one.
TOTALLY different situation than Tom’s. I’ve been a Rhule supporter but the fact is that he’s paid HANDSOMELY and he hasn’t proven that he deserves a raise and extension. It could have waited. Guaranteeing him an extra 26 Million because you’re worried about what recruits might think who wouldnt be here for those extra two years seems kind of crazy. JMO and I’ve never once suggested that we should replace Rhule.

My concern is that IF he’s the right guy, that shouldn’t have happened at Minnesota. Time will tell. I thought we were pot committed BEFORE this extension. Good heavens! Over 100 MILLION guaranteed and he never has to have another winning season? Yikes!!! Call me old and conservative. I like the guy and am glad he’s our coach but….

Seems like we are always bidding against ourselves. Yeah, yeah, PSU. I'm kind of at the point where f it. If he wanted to leave, should have let him leave.

Now if he wins 3 of the last 4, I'll say good good on the extension. Haha

I’m in the camp that believes there’s no way PSU was firing Franklin to hire Rhule and I couldn’t buy him leaving for Okie State or Arkansas. No way LSU or UF wanted him. 🤷‍♂️
I’m not bashing Rhule, I just think guaranteeing him another 26 million was premature. Maybe the powers that be think it would get more expensive later??? Damn though. Over 100 million guaranteed now.

Yeah it's crazy the way money is thrown around. It's a shame more money isn't allocated to find and hire exceptional assistant coaches, I mean how much loot does a HC really need unless he's really greedy.

The good news? He has to pay Nebraska state income and property tax. Sooo all that donor money is recirculated through the economy generating tax revenue. What is the velocity of money right now? Economists? Edit. M2 is 1.392 according to Google. Damn that’s slow but up from under 1.2 in 2021. I always thought a value of 3 was kind of a normal number.

Truth. Other than sub freezing temps, it’s the wind -sustained wind & gusts - that disorientates visitors to the upper Great Plains states.

The mere fact that many are hoping for help from the weather is another sign that Rhule shouldn’t have gotten an extension yet….
Rhule got the extension because the program has been in a state of incompetent chaos for more than a decade. Fans think that the past doesn't effect the future but our massive amounts of buyouts and failed coaches have had a major effect on the prestige of the program, especially considering there is almost no talent in our state, and the little talent doesn't view NU as the go-to school. There will be at least a dozen jobs open that are as good as Nebraska, not extending Rhule left him as a lame duck with an AD that did not hire him. Leaving would be his only smart option, and although our talent isn't good, it has been good enough to beat four power 4 teams, who are apparently worse. This season would a whole lot worse if we were 2-6 right now. The extension was smart in that it created stability for incoming and current players, as well as coaches and it locked Rhule from being taken by a mid-level power 4 team and taking our best players, leaving us with maybe the 20th best coaching prospect in the country, with only a few months to build an entire new team. I do not like Rhule but he is good enough for current Nebraska football and Dannon needs to keep him only until he finds a substantial upgrade. Imagine the NIL situation if we lost our entire coaching staff, top players, and has to hire somebody that nobody else wants, who has all of the leverage to scam into a massive contract, with a massive buyout. The only coach that I could consider hiring would be Zac Taylor because he would be at least loyal to NU and might give some home team discounts.

I think most ADs and coaches live with the fear of a lottery winner who has the winning ticket stapled to their chest. They aren't taking risks, they hire friends and buddies, people they can trust and they try to get as much as they can while the going is hot. Most assistants just want to be the big guy because they have been abused for so long and done most of the work for less money. Again, being paid a lot doesn't make you more talented, inspired, or motivated...in fact it probably makes you harder to work with and more stubborn.

The colder the better for us - Mother Nature hook us up with big temp drops!!!
It does look like it’ll be breezy and chilly, especially with the humidity.

That said… Football players will not be affected by yuck weather. Both teams will be out in short sleeves. Any suggestion to the contrary is laughable.

The only weather-related effect on the game itself will be how the breeze blows the ball around. Passing and special teams might be just a bit more interesting.
