A pretty bad game all around on offense, but the defense and hustle plays were ratcheted up. We’re in the middle of a redesign.
I like this but i’d make the third star Javin/Ques. Javin held his own and had the majority of the minutesRJ and it’s not even an argument. If this was a hockey game, we could do the 1. RJ 2. Alex 3. Ques
I can’t agree with this, i thought Jav was pitiful.I like this but i’d make the third star Javin/Ques. Javin held his own and had the majority of the minutes
Really? I thought that was the most effective Jav has been in about 2 months.I can’t agree with this, i thought Jav was pitiful.
Yeah, its the first time I haven't thrown something at him since Christmas. 5 points, 7 boards, 3 blocks and only 1 TO. Gave us 27 minutes of good defense too. 3-4 from the charity stripe.Really? I thought that was the most effective Jav has been in about 2 months.
Hahaha i guess it depends on where you sit. I thought he fumbled multiple passes, played pitiful defense and gave terrible fouls. Glad Bolden stepped up.Yeah, its the first time I haven't thrown something at him since Christmas. 5 points, 7 boards, 3 blocks and only 1 TO. Is it possible to agree with both of you? I thought he played fairly well for how he typically plays but some of the rebounds he couldn’t hold onto almost made my head explode.Really? I thought that was the most effective Jav has been in about 2 months.
Went with RJ because he carried us but we don't win without Alex's hot shooting.
I guess "gameball" could be translated as MVP or X-factor and probably some other designations, too. I went MVP: RJ.
Just personally, myself, I always vote gameball as, biggest reason we won.
Love all our players!
the real narrative is that we definitely don’t win without RJ.
I mean I get everyone saying “we don’t win without Alex,” but I don’t necessarily agree. He was the only one outside of RJ who could hit the ocean with a rock last night, but maybe someone else steps up and hits a few of the shots he hit. That was his role and fulfilled it like a champ.
However, there was no one else in a Duke uniform capable of, or willing to play in the middle of that zone. In my opinion, Alex absolutely helped win that game, but the real narrative is that we definitely don’t win without RJ.
You ain’t wrong. But, that’s a narrative you can say about a big chunk of our games. Come on, Alex finally showed up... I wouldn’t want to start the debate that RJ is a game ball hog![]()

I could argue we don't win without either of them. RJ was special - and there certainly is an argument for him receiving the game ball, as there is almost every game.
I'm going to play devils advocate here, though. SOMEONE had to step up other than RJ in Zion's absence on Saturday and I think alot of us believed it would be Cam. Alex' confidence, shooting and energy were the difference in us winning that game or not (again, obviously RJ too).
It's not that RJ doesn't deserve it - but it's sort of like Coach K not ever getting Coach of the year anymore cause everyone just expects Duke to be good. Well, RJ should be good, but the catalyst was Alex IMO.
K'ville OUT!![]()
